Yesterday a friend and I spent 10 hours killing the KDP and installing some guages.
We took it slow and careful but still got interrupted by others things.
The dowel pin was out about a 1/8 to 1/4 inch. I have 83,000 miles on the truck so I figure it would have fallen out eventually. We tabbed and locktited the screw. While we were in there we took care of the other screws that could have caused problems. The worst part was the fan and fan shroud. What a PITA it was to remove. Once they were gone everything else went just fine. Getting the fan assembly back in was also a PITA but not as bad as we knew what to expect. The gasket was in great shape so we left it alone but still put a bead of RTV on it just in case. Take additional coolant and some transmission fluid (if yours is an automatic). I lost 3/4 of a gallon of coolant pulling the hose to remove the fan and shroud. I lost maybe 3 pints of transmission fluid when we installed the 95 cooler line. The kit from TST was great along with all the instructions they had and the ideas I got from this site. Information from this site just paid my membership cost in savings.
My gauges are installed
Max temp I saw so far was 800 egt, 10 psi boost and 120 transmission temp. I can't really punch it (not enough of a straight stretch to really let her stretch her legs). Idleing around town my boost reads 0-1 psi. I now wonder if I got a boost loss.
The turbo lost its gag so now it sings like it should. Overall I am very pleased with the way everything went and I encourage everyone who has not killed the KDP or installed gauges to do so. You will never regret it.
Now what should I do next? New pans, scotty II air, a new exhaust system or a TST #10 fuel plate with 3kgsk? I plan on carring a camper in hilly to mountainous terrian.

ps Thanks to everyone here who answered my questions. I took all of that with me during this install and it helped.
