Finally got a railcar #. Went to UP's website and it left Melon TX this morning at 5:20 and is due to arrive in Centerville IL at 9:00 Wednesday morning. Hopefully it will be to my dealer (Eldon MO) by the beginning of next week. :D :D :D I feel giddy like a school girl playing squat tag in a cucumber patch!

Ummm Me Too? I think?

Mine has arrived in Laredo TX as of an hour ago. Looks like its just waiting to be transferred to the UPRR and head north. Hopefully within a week I'll be behind the wheel.

Well, just got off the phone with DC... "I'm sorry but we don't know the status of your truck. I have submitted a request to have someone look into it and will call you when I have more information"... Yeahh... RIIIIGHT... like the last 2 guys that said they'd call me and never did. #@$%!

If you guys give me the car numbers, I can tell you the train ID and ETA to destination. I work at UPRR in San Antonio. I could even set the car out here and break them in for you!

Thanks for both offers, but I think I would prefer to put the break in miles on her if you don't mind. :D I found the site where I can track the RR car for myself. As I said thanks for the offer but I don't want to inconvenience you. Plus, it's faster this way. I've been looking it up about every hour since I got the # and watching it make the voyage.

Yeah me too. It looks like mine is still sitting in texas. :(

I checked every hour or so today at work, and first thing when I got out of bed this morning. Its like a nervous father waiting for a new baby...

My car number is TTGX922145 if you have any inside information.

Don't listen to San Antonio

Guys,

That "UP" guy in San Antonio doesn't know jack. I work in the Harriman in Omaha. UP's "major" dispatching office. If you want anything done, talk to me. For the right price :-laf

Just got home by the way. Glad to be out of that place for another 15 hrs.

Hours of service talk if that San Antonio guy knows what I'm talkin' about :-laf

Hey!

All those dispatchers know how to do these days is hog trains. If it wasn't for the managers in the field nothing would ever move! Isn't like when I was a Dispatcher... we never had recrews!! LOL

Memory Lane.....

I remember tracking my truck, from the day I ordered it until I heard from Butch @ Dishman that it was delivered... ... seemed like an eternity!

Everyone kept saying the wait will be worth it...

Boy, were they right! Oo.

That car is due to depart Laredo at 0830 today. ETA in Centreville IL is 9/26. But that can change depending on how long it takes to switch that train when it gets to San Antonio. I'll check on it again tonight.

Getting Closer

Just checked and mine is in ValJct IL. I think that's not too far from Centreville if my calculations are correct. Hopefully I'll get to see them unload it today when the train car transitions to empty. :D

I wish someone could just tell me WHERE my truck is!!! I called DC again. What a bunch of worthless idiots. I had called at least 10 times with my VIN and now they said they can't track with a VIN, but need the VON. I left that at home, so I argued with the guy for 10 minutes before he HUNG UP ON ME. So after 20 more minutes of hold I get another rep. She says "I'm not sure where your truck is, we'll have to call you back. What's your number?" To which I reply, "What difference does it make, you won't call me back, just like the last 2 people didn't call me back". Nope, didn't get a call back from her either. Man if I wasn't determined to get a CTD I'd be talkin to F*rd right now. They're probably all idiots too, though. :(

Be sure to turn your back while they drive it off! They drive like madmen while unloading. Here in San Antonio I watched these 2 Nimwits crash 2 Fords into esch other at the Auto Facility!!

Oh, great, that makes me feel so good, seeing as how the last truck I ordered came pre-dented. Yep, that's right, it had a dent about the size of a golfball on the rocker panel under the driver's door. I figure the yahoo that tied it down hit it with something.

jeepdude, or anyone else

How do you get a railcar number?

And what phone # did you call DC at?

I've got a VIN and a L4-VON. I'd really like to figure out where it's at.

Thanks for any help.

Bbenson,

Your dealer should be able to tell you when it's built and when it gets loaded on the railcar and what the number is then type the number in the box at this website, http://c01.my.uprr.com/pet/index.shtml, and it will tell you where it is at and estimated time until it stops to be loaded on a truck.

You can also call the DC customer line at 1800-992-1997, and provide them with your VIN. They can tell you whats going on during the build process. They also provided me with my train car number.
