TDR MEMBER
While camping at Colden Lakes Resort Campground, Colden, NY, I finally got to camp three spots away from another TDR member. I have been in the club since 2005 and have only ran across one other TDR member and he was none too friendly. In this case, I met Ralph and his bride and they were there from Maine visiting family nearby. We were too. Anyhow, it was a lot of fun talking to these two and we did several times over the course of the week. And all because Ralph had two TDR stickers on his back window and a TDR license plate on the front. I thoroughly enjoyed their company!

It's been a very long time since I've seen a TDR sticker or grille badge anywhere. I always enjoyed looking for them.

My truck always has at least one or two TDR stickers on the upper rear LH side corner of the window. I also have the TDR grill badge alone with the Cummins high mileage badge on the front grill. The only time I have found anyone from TDR fraternity was in Indiana, at the rally held in 2013.

We travel all over the country from Utah to the far east coast and never found another TDR member on the road.

Sorry, but we are going east this year. The DW is meeting up with some high school girl friends in Williamsburg VA. So, I convinced her to let me take the 5er and she can visit her friends and I can tour the civil war battlefields around the area in VA.

That will be fun. I grew up in Pa., Mom and dad were Rv'ers and I am pretty sure we saw and visited every historical site on the East coast including standing on the flight deck of the USS Kitty Hawk when it was in the Philadelpia Naval yard. There is so much to see there and you could easily spend a Summer and probably not get to all of it.

We're planning to be in Fredericksburg and Williamsburg during September. I'm a real history nut and my wife is a real good sport.

I've had stickers on the rear and/ or sides of my cap since '97. I've never been recognized but maybe once a looong time ago. I'm always pounding the hiways in NJ/eastern PA and sometimes upstate NY.
Mr. Hess, do you recall who the rude dog was that time?

DavidC That is hilarious!!!! You got 10 years on me but I hear ya! I see you have a 70 Road Runner. We had three of them around the house growing up. A 1970, 1971, and a 1974. The 70 was my Dad's. He sold it after us boys moved away. My brother keeps tabs on it and the owner was trying to sell it but he was asking more than we could afford as we wanted to get it back in the family. Haven't asked my brother about it lately. It was a B5 Blue 383 car. Really wish we could get it back........

Sadly I sold it when I retired along with alot of posessions. I had that car since 1973 F5 Tor Red 4 speed 383 pistol grip Air grabber. Sold it for 25k. It still tears me up but I had no where to store it and it would just be wasted not being driven. I keep telling myself the guy in Ohio that bought it will at least use it and take care of it.

Oh man Dave.... I feel for you. When my Dad sold the 70 he did not tell either of us boys. One of us would have taken it. I would love to have that car. Our 70 was an auto with the Air Grabber. Also had the dust stripes from the front birds back to those pockets on the rear quarters. I understand those dust stripes were optional. I have my 73 Scamp. It started out as a "restification" project but Scamp's get no respect so I went right to the wall with it and made it all out drag race. I regret that decision. It was still a fun car to drive. I listened to everyone around me telling it wasn't worth anything(being a Scamp) instead of just enjoying my ride. I was a member of a Mopar Club at the time and in hindsight, a Mopar show car club. Not a lot of appreciation for non-collectible Mopars. I have thought about piecing it back together and leaving the 496 in it. Just dial it way back. That would be a lot of fun on the street!!!

Dave, yes mine had the gold birds and gold dust trail to the scoops. I really detested those trails so I did not put them back on when restored and repainted. They were an option along with the air grabber and exhaust dress cones. You are right that thing would be a blast on the street and you can go further than 1/8 or 1/4 mile. You have my vote to make it streetable.

Jim, when are you going to be in Williamsburg? I am only about 50 miles from there.
