How/where is the best place to find any year Cummins? I live in North Carolina. Please help, I want to put one in a 72 Chevy, but I dont know where/how to find a Cummins around here.

A student of mine put one in a '79 F250 and purchased the engine, trans, etc. from Balsley Auto Sales here in western PA. Balsley's Auto Sales



It's quite a distance away from you, but it would be an option if you can't find a donor vehicle close to home.

I dont care whether its the engine or a truck with the engine, I just want/need to find one for less that 2000$. Anymore help?

You'll most likely have to run across a beat up old dented half rusted out 2wd truck that somebody just needs gone if you want one for that money.

I found a 1993 intercooled 12v in a truck with 111k on it that hadn't been driven in 2 years. I bought it off ebay for $1300 and drove it home 1,100 miles pulling a trailer and a crew cab 4x4 1ton. The deals are there if you look and are willing to drive, but it's going to be hard to find a low mileage engine/trans for that money.
