Finish First Polish Products

Anyone using these products? Are they as good as advertised?

There are lots of new scientifically improved nasa certified etc etc products out there... . most actually contain a polishing compound that removes micro layers of paint that is why it looks so good with little effort...



For me nothing is better than CARNAUBA... lots of it, if you have not done it get a clay kit and clay the truck the results will amaze you. . clay removes all the junk out of the paint that no washing is going to go, but it does not remove paint like buffing/polishing compounds can do. . you know your done claying a section when it is a smooth as a wet ice cube... Clay does work ask any body shop or paint shop



I clay my vehicles at least once sometimes twice a year, then use a 3 stage wax system... after that just a little wax every other month and it will always look good and protect the paint... .



also a note of personal experience learned the hard way...

use a real car wash soap..... not dish soap, simple green, castrol super clean etc... I've used them all, and after 6 years on the new paint job my ford looks like it too... ... they will remove wax but they can also strip/dull the paint if used to strong... a couple of bucks spent on a good car soap is worth it

I'm happy with it.

I bought a Finish First kit for my Durango a couple years ago, and also used it on my '65 Dodge Coronet convertible. First you wash, then you apply the cream. Let it haze and wipe it off. Not much effort needed. The cloth will turn paint color, so it is taking a bit of the paint off, but after that it is an incredibly smooth surface. I really havent' had to wash my convertble for a couple years. Really. Just keep it inside and use a California duster. The Durango lived outdoors, and the FF could probably have been applied a couple times, but I never bothered. Now I have the Ram, so I'll probably try it in a couple months. My guess is that there are other quality products out there, but I happened to buy the Finish First stuff. Hope this helps.
