Turbo Tax online sure makes it easy, highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't used it. Gets even easier after you've used it a few years, their server stores much info from previous years and fills it in for you.

I have to do my Taxes on a quarterly basis YUK!

I decided about 10 years ago that taxes and book keeping was not for me. Since then I use my father in law to do them for me. Hes a CPA.

I have always heard good stuff about the new tax programs.

Don~

its a good feeling to have all the books in order too.

I'm with Don ... . quarterly taxes ... . suck!!!! I'll wait til Apr 15 . . then send the $$ ... urghhhhhh

oh well

Life is good

I would have one sweet business if I got to keep all of the money I sent to uncle Sam. Quarterly corporate tax, federal deposits, personal income tax and that doesn't really even scratch the surface... . oh well it's better than living in Afghanistan!

PS- I would really like to keep those monthly federal deposits (The tax money your company withholds from each paycheck)... But then again it really isn't my money... LOL

illflem

Did you use the CD or do they have somewere you go online to do them? Still waiting on the farms taxes... . always have to pay there.

IRS

We file schedule-F and do all of our farm taxes on turbo tax. You have to get the deruxe version; it has all of the forms you need.

Why did I say we? My wife's a CPA, the only thing I do is sign it. BTW, she thinks turbo tax is the best thing since sliced bread. :D

The online version is excellent. You don't need to go and buy a new copy every year. I think last year when I used it it cost me 25. 00 to file both state and federal and got my refund within a couple of weeks. Sure beats waiting for a couple months. Just need to get my stuff together and get it done this year

I would not mind using it but I am not wild about all the info sitting on a server somewhere! I currently use a CPA to eliminate some hassles.

I did mine and my Dad's yesterday with Turbo Tax - took about 3. 5 hours total. I had the CD sent in December and downloaded my state tax yesterday. I'm just waiting to hear if they are accepted. I opted for the eloctronic transfer. Huuum - let's se what the old '93 could benefit from. ;)

Happy trails

Bob

The online version is great, I've been using it for several years. If you're under a certain income level ($25,000) the program and electronic filing is free. Otherwise it's $10 for an EZ and filing, $20 for 1040 and filing (state is another $5 and 12).

It IS your money. It IS. you earned it.

If everyone would learn and remember this, those clowns that keep whining they can't "afford" a tax cut would be guffawed out of town.

I'm not sure, but I think that the monthly payments HiPerf360 was referring to was for his employees payroll deductions. That's why he said it wasn't really his money.

Either way, it really isn't the government's.

It's OUR money, we earned it. We let them use a little of it. And it should be "a little", such that it doesn't hurt at tax time.

i do mine myself. i always have :D

i did them last night and our little Baby we had in December is partly do blame for the $5569. 00 we are GETTING BACK

too bad I'm selling the truck OUR baby, could have paid for MY baby's twins :--)

If you want your taxes cut, simply quit the withholding. Make everyone write a check each month to each of the the various governments for our "share" of the taxes: federal, state, local income, property, real estate, etc, etc, etc. When you have to write those checks and see how much of your money you lose/is taken each month :{ , there would be a major tax revolt :-{}

ToddT,

You need to do some adjustments on the W-4. That's entirely to much money to loan the government interest free.

I don't know if it is a fact, but I have been told that a refund of over $5K could trigger an audit. :--)

me4osu - there is no truth in that, big refunds happen all the time for many reasons.

Some people have high withholdings on purpose to create big refunds because they know they would just spend the money throughout the year and not save it. Not necessarily the best method but different strokes.

No such luck for me, looks like I'm gonna owe some bucks for the first time ever. :{
