Probably more for looks than cooling, but makes the Frantz look different - some will like it, some won't - I use one on both the oil bypass in the foreground, and also on the Frantz fuel filter on the other side of the engine bay.

Gary,

How does the fuel filter work? What micron and what kind of filter media? It looks pretty big, curious minds want to know. Thanks in advance, Scott.

The Frantz fuel filter has the same SUB-micron rating as their oil bypass filters. Mine applies about a 4 PSI nominal drop in PSI across it in normal use, so requires something better than the OEM lift pumps to supply adequate PSI and flow rates. I had been using the OEM LP, plus a Carter pusher pump, and that worked great - and recently switched to a Walbro as a test - the original setup was still performing perfectly.

Good idea Gary, wish I'd thought of it. Oh wait, I did ! :D

I got mine from Cool_Collar. I t looks like the same exact thing. I painted mine black, then polished off the fin edges. I'll claim it matches my Mag-Hytech diff cover. For the record, I have the Amsoil BMK-11 mounted by the frame (actually on a body flange) under the passenger. I wanted some protection from stuff coming off the tire for the exposed filter and a little extra cooling couldn't hurt.
