Has anyone bought the new Firestone Transforce for their late model dually trucks? How are the running out?

One of my General let go today and I am thinking about replacing the rest.

Thanks,KevinOo.

My POS Generals made it 25K and had a front tire tread separation. They were 2/3 worn out.

I bought a set of Michelin MS2's at Discount tire in Las Vegas in May of last year. For 6 I paid $1,408 out the door. At 25K they are all between 9-10/32" tread left.

I only rotate fronts side to side. So far very happy.

I would not buy Firestone tires. Too many other better choices out there. Toyo and Michelin are what you should look at.

I've always had Toyos and will continue to do so for my faithful Truck. Have bought several sets of M/T's and have set of Toyo winters.

Might be considering the new Toyo A/T II extremes to try out.

Have had other brands but always liked the Toyos in the end.

I ran the TransForce Firestones for awhile on my 10, when they get to 50% tread, they became very easy to spin out on wet/damp pavement. Worthless in the snow and on ice with that amount of tread. I went back to Cooper HT's.

I'm running Firestone Destination's on my 2013 2500. So far (20,000 miles) they have been nice and quiet and seem to be holding up well with better than half of the tread still left. The side walls are also holding up well showing no damage after being scrubbed against a few curbs. They perform well in the rain and surprised me how good they were in the snow being they are a highway tire. As long as the out last the 50,000 mile warranty I'll probably buy them again.

Not on a dually, but I've had really good luck with the Firestones on my trucks. They see a lot of gravel/dirt roads and the sidewalls and tread hold up very well under those conditions.

Well I succumbed to the Michelins MS2 at Discount tire in Owasso, Ok $1412 mounted and balanced out the door for an unbelievably smoother ride than the Generals.

11 or 12 year old tires? Don't you think it is TIME? SNOKING

Not yet. The truck has been stored inside since new and the sidewalls are in perfect condition. Prior to moving to PA, I had a '69 Dodge Dart which I had since new. The second set of Michelins (Sears radials) on that car were 34 years old and still worked fine. It too was always stored inside.

Great!

Was that their first price quoted to you or did you tell them I paid $1,408?

My price included a Military discount even tho I was not in the Military. I had complained about a guy earlier in the day that left grease marks all over my truck when installing the spare after I had the tread separation.

First price quoted, very happy with Discounts installation , I will take them more buisness!

Thanks!

The store manager did my install. I think they wanted someone with experience swapping tires on the Alcoa wheels.

What surprised me they were 2-$300 less than Costco.

Little late chiming in on this one. I just replaced all 6 tires with the Firestone TransForce. I live in Florida so I can not comment on the snow factor. I really like them over the Generals, there quiet and a tad softer. The Generals were A/T the TransForce are the HT highway type, which is why they are a little softer. I've put about 5,000 miles on them so far and that includes towing my 15,000lbs 5th wheel to Pennsylvania and back and in some heavy rain storms. The truck actually got .5 plus better mpg's with these tires. So far I have to say I am very pleased with my choice.
