Heading up to Fun Valley and Wolf creek CO

Trailair center point suspension

I mounted a set of Firestone Airbags today and the install was so simple on my 2005 3500 dually.

No drilling / special mods needed.

Took about 1. 5 hous to put in :)

Drove a bit with 15 PSI and was bucking like a bull unloaded.

I will see & adjust when I P/Up the RV tommorow.

I think you will like them. Empty I run them at 5 pis. I have a few pics in the readers rigs as to how I set mine up. I ran a compressor and an air tank and ran air chuck to the back of the truck. From there I can adjust the air bags or inflate tires, or anything else.

I installed mine Sat. It was OK... ..... If you like sliding around on your back in 90 degree weather under a pick up truck :{ ... ... ..... With 30lb's they took the slide in camper weight almost completely off the the helper springs. With the trailer and with the camper loaded they should be just right!

I installed Ride Rites last week, how many lbs do you all use when hauling. I have 2000+ on the pin and 13k dry?

What did you use for a compressor, what size tank & where did you put the air tank. I ahve a BD brake and thought about using the compressor on it. Has anyone tried that or is it practical or even possible.

Had my Ride Rites w/ in-cab controller put on by the dealer before I picked up my truck at Dave Smith. Drove it back through Canada with a 3600lb Arctic Fox Camper on the back (3500 miles or so). Running between 40 and 60 psi in them and the truck rides like a Cadillac.

Depending on the road there is a little bucking in the bumps and the lights are slightly high. I think I will try a little more air for the next trip. Still learning this setup.

rgh,

My old 5'er was about 12k empty, and I usually ran @50psi loaded. I do have the convenience of being able adjust and monitor pressure in cab (plumbed it from the compressor with a adjusting valve), and anywhere from 40-55psi seemed about right, so I went with 50. My new cargo trailer is about 6k empty, and I run it @30psi, adding air as the GVW goes up. Hope this helps!

BTW I run a VIAIR 400c compressor and 5 gal tank mounted under the bed on passenger side (bolted upsidedown to the bed). Works great for long blasts on my Hadleys too :D

from the manual:

As a general rule, the air helper

springs will support approximately 50 lbs. of load for each psi of inflation pressure

(per pair). For example, 50 psi of inflation pressure will support a load of 2500 lbs.

per pair of air helper springs.

This is what I used for a compressor:

I placed the compressor inside the bed bracket over the frame on the drivers side. It fits in there like it was made for it. I fabbed up a bracket to use existing holes :D

I have purchased Ride Rites and have them in my garage waiting for me to get the time and energy to get them on. I also want to get the incab controlers first. Looking for a good deal on them.
