Alright already

Well there seems to be very little posts on the positives on the 05's so here is a positive one. Just hit 10K and the only thing that I have had to deal with was the replacement of the front bumper for poor chrome quality, and a cracked cab clearance light thats it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

As far as the rest of the truck its perfect. Now I know thats a bold statement but thats the facts, built in Mexico and all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The motor is awesome.

The 56 Honey shifts and works flawlessly.

The interior is durable, with no squeaks or rattles UHMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Hope that one doesn't bite me!!!

Basically look forward to driving the dam thing every time I get in it.

I hope the vibes at 70 thing doesn,t raise it's ugly head, or the launch shutter. I do miss the 2nd gen fan belt chirp every time I kill it, and the lift pump therapy. I only hope the fun continues, and I wish all the members could only have the luck I'm having.

Good luck all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 05 has not had one thing go wrong. It's perfect so far. I do have the normal fan belt chirp when I shut it down. Most impresive is how it started back in Jan at -13*F after sitting out for 11 hours and was not plugged in. Only 8750 miles to date. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Maybe I just can't hear the chirp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously this is one remarkable vehicle. Two doors down my neighbor works Ford and gets a new truck every year (don't know how he does it) all have been PSD's and are used for pulling a Raptor 5er but man the troubles  . I only wish some of the members that are having problems with their Dodges could see this. I've seen an 03,04,and now 05 all PSD's every thing from stalling to oil leaks (LOTS) out right breaking down. With the exception of the engine these truck are well built (what a shame). If you could only put my CTD with the NVG 56 honey in there and you could quite possibly have one of the best built /running trucks ever made IMHO.

My 04. 5 is a dream. Only had to replace the door seals as they were getting scuffed and the dealer said there's a fix for that. No rattles at 8500 mi. , getting good milage, Using the spread sheet from one of the members shows 16. 8 avg since new, about 1/2 & 1/2 city/highway. Did the vent kit and man is that nice to fill up and not have to dribble in the last 3 gal. It has the chirp as usual. Only complaint that my wife has is how to get that BGG off my face when I'm driving.

Keep grinnin,

Since there seem to be so many threads that give an impression there's always a problem with these trucks, I'll throw my . 02 in here. My current 04. 5 w/ 19,500 has been perfect. Not one problem. This is my 6th Dodge/Cummins and they have all been perfect except for a VP44 on my 01 that was replaced under warranty. I put over 100k on all of them. Sure, with anything mechanical, you can have a lemon and maybe I've been lucky, but I won't ever complain about Dodge.

Same as the above. Have over 5K on it in last 30 days, flawless at this point. Getting great fuel milage since we broke it in a little with a 40' gooseneck for about 600 miles of it and a car in tow for another 500. Loving it more and more, especially the more I see the post from the Ford guys (I was one too) about their new trucks. Since this will be used for a full-time OTR truck I did the research and bought the one that stood out in all the forums.

I just bought Sam Pap's 2004. 5 truck up in Oregon and it has 26,000 on the OD and the only problem He had was the right side door lock failed and it was replaced under warrenty.

I know i don't have many miles for an '03(13k), but i haven't had any issues whatsoever. I love my truck and i commend you for having a positive post. Some of the gripes are legit, but man do i get tired of all the *****ing!

Ours has 14k on it. The only problem is that the truck wants to pop out of 6th gear, so I need to get it in. It also feels sluggish next to my 04. 5:confused:

A side by side run had me in my 04. 5 pulling pretty good on my dad in the 05.

I've got an afe/tt and straight pipe (reflash) and 156,000miles :D

No problems here either. Steering wheel was slightly off center when I picked it up, dealer fixed under warranty, all else is perfect.

I only have 2600 on my '05, but I'm on my 5th Dodge, and the only problem I have had with any of them was on my '98 1500... . replaced left rear sensor for ABS under warrantee. And, to go against the prevailing thought, I find the interior nice and comfortable..... jmho

04. 5, 13K miles, no problems. Love the truck 17. 5-17. 8 MPG 1/2 city1/2 hiway... hand calculated... overheade always says about 17. 4-17. 5.

My 2004 has been perfect also. By the way, Rams are male bighorn sheep. With the Cummins, well, they have plenty of what makes them male :D

:) hello. i just joined tdr,and i have an 05 ccsb 4x4 6 spd with 6k on it and it has been great!!it has an airraid rep filter and a mbrp replacement muffler with a cat test pipe[installed today]. getting 19. 5 mpg all interstate hand calculated. this is my first diesel truck and second new ram. first one was 97 gas burner[junk] lokking forward to many happy miles w/ the cummins. :D :D
