TomeyGun you are correct about there being more power off of the line; I cannot say where I got the info but there were changes made to the boost control on the wastegate; also look under the transmission anything different??? Lets say something should be missing... Also should be something missing under the hood... LLet me know what you find as we do not have any diesels on the lot yet, my truck is scheduled for the 22nd Oo. to be shipped.

You know, its a shame that a company that spends all kinds of money on advertising, can't get their website updated with the 05 information, until after the trucks arrive on the lots. As of last night, you could only get 04 stats to build and price one. And no updated brochures at the dealer, yet, you are expected to order one, sight unseen. I know there are no major changes, but they always make some minor cosmetic changes to the dash and exterior. This information should hit the website when they open up ordering for the new models. At that point the changes are set, so it's not a matter of industrial secrecy anymore. I'll get off my soapbox now.

Tom, can you post any pics of the new one?

Chrysler policy has always been September 1 for the websites and not a day earlier. For industry purposes, the model year officially begins October 1.

I'm sure there's a little marketing built into when they update the website. If they advertise right away all the "exciting new" features on the '05 then everyone will hold out for the '05... (except for the bargain hunters).

Being someone that has bought the "old" model several times in the past of a product just to have the new one released in the next coming days I'm annoyed by this... . but it's business I supposed.

think of this way if they made the 05's sound so much better nobody would buy the left over 04's it gives the dealers some time to get rid of the 04's.

correct, thats why you have seen almost NO advertising about the new 05 dakota

cause it would KILL 04 "old" dakota sales

BTW - the new dakota is an all-new model, totall redesign

Funny how opinions differ. I actually like my 04 interior. Yes it does have a little of the minivan look but who said that's bad? Everything is so easy to use. You don't even have to think. I had a GM HD... 2001. It's interior was more expansive. . more buttons and knobs but no more funtionality. I like simplicity. . hence. . Cummins. I expect the truck to be that way too.

Tires... ? Mine came stock with BF Goodrich RuggedTrail T/A 265's.

They're in the basement.

Rear traction control unit is probably the best in the market.

Axles... hear a lot of complaints that Dodge trucks are junk over the years. Glad they changed axles.

Manual shift Xfercase? I have a loaded SLT with one.

My biggest complaint is the DEATH WOBBLE tendancy of the coil sprung design.
