Competition P-pump question

Darn, Eric, you must be doing well in testing. I was out at the DHRA site, (http://www.dhraonline.com/?GROUP=series&PAGE=natindex) and saw the quote:

"Wouldn't you like to be there the first time a Cummins 5. 9L diesel-powered rail dragster runs the 1/4 mile in 6 seconds @ 210 MPH? "

I think 200 may get popped this year, and likely at a low elevation track, but 6 seconds? Tough. Maybe a REALLY BIG bungee cord... ..... (is that whay they call them slingshot dragsters?)

Better get back out to the garage blow the dust off, and change the Lucas, whoops, I mean oil.....

Actually I didn't put that up on our website. I'm sure Neal was referring to the possibility of it happening rather than anything else just as he mentions the possibility of a Pro Street racer hitting a 9-second 1/4 this year. We are trying to build excitement for those that read our website (some 114,000 last month). Like you said Scott, it isn't a far stretch to believe it will happen this year.

Yes, but it happened in Washington :)

Not sure what you two are talking about, but I said something about a Pro Street racer going in the 9's. Don't exactly understand why you felt it necessary to say anything at all?

Uh..... I think you mentioned that. ;)

What I mentioned is the possibility of a Pro Street racer going in the 9's. Not "has there ever been a diesel truck in the 9's?"

Currently TS Performance holds the record at 10. 96. Pro Street is a DHRA class. For that matter, Doug Doring went 9. 27 years ago in a diesel pickup truck and Jeff Garmon went 9. 98 IIRC last year. :-{}

Doug Doring's truck is no street truck. It is a race only, 2 stroke, aluminum components, just a BIG bit different than Garmon's rig. 4 stroke vs a 2 stroke is huge.

Greg, you will soon understand.

Understand, is this more of , the same , innuendos that the competition is faster , looks like we called their hand , and it was lacking. Same here , Scott has proven the fact that he and Dustin have the fastest diesel dragster in the land, but some people want to imply that that is insignificant , because theirs is ‘GONNA BE FASTER , SHOULD BE FASTER , or that in a secret midnight test session , it 60 ‘ numbers indicated that it’s faster .
