Need some help with the front driveshaft

HELP, I think I got the wrong exhaust brake

I have 30,000 miles on the truck & the air filter indicator shows I need to change the filter.

I removed the 3 clips but it seems that I might have to disconnect the hose to get the top of the box off. Is this true or do I just bend things back?

Also is there anything else I should do or be careful about while changing the filter.

Thanks for any input.

I changed mine a couple of weeks ago. Just undo the clips and put in the new one. I got a vacuum and took out some of the trash in the bottom of the box. My truck has 31k and first time to change it.

Thanks, that is just what I did. I went back out & took a better look & saw that I needed to pull the whole top to the right to take it off. Boy was that filter dirty on the bottom. I don't think I will wait till the indicator gets to the red next time. I would think a filter that dirty might affect milage, maybe. I vacumed the bottom out like you did after I scraped some crud loose & wiped the sides down. It was a struggle to get the top back on. ( Probably wasn't doing it right ) All in all it was an easy job.

So far I have done my own oil changes, fuel filter changes & rear end oil changes & now air filter. Just wish I knew something about auto trans so I could change it and make necessary adjustments. I understand that is pretty pricey.

Thanks for the reply.

If I waited for my filter minder to pull down, I'd probably still be running the factory original filter.

I've got over 86K on my truck and the minder just plain doesn't work. It'll move about 1/16" the first time I drive the truck. After that, it won't move.
