At the SoCal TDR meeting on Sat. I got a tool tray from Jon that is a great idea.

It is a metal tray that mounts above the radiator and fan where you can place tools, nuts, bolts, etc. on it without dropping them down between the frame and radiator:eek:

Mine is black to match the valve cover and other engine parts.

A minor BOMB. . but a useful start as BOMBing continues.

IMO, anything you do to or for your Ram is a BOMB... I'd say this qualifies! I bet you will get a lot of use out of that as you progress onto more adventures in BOMBing!

Emddiesel,

Sorry I don't have a picture, but I'll try and describe it. It is made of aluminum I think... there is a bottom piece with a raised area in the back/middle because of fan cowling clearence. The edges all the way around have a horizontal lip on them to keep stuff in the tray instead of rolling off into the engine/radiator area. You remove the nuts that hold the battery cable on the top of the radiator and it mounts to those screws, there are new screws on the back edge of the tray that you reroute the battery cable to. When you finish, the top of the radiator and the top of the fan cowling are covered by the tray, and you have a nice place to lay tools, and other pieces of 'stuff' you are working with without them falling where you can't get to them.

Comes in different colors (pretty well matched to stock colors), and has a sticker on top that warns of moving and hot parts below.

Jon Klaasen (Local Amsoil dealer and TDR member) is making them. Don't have his email but phone is (949)472-0432.

EMD,

Here's a picture. Sorry it's not any clearer, I don't have a good photo editor. The red sticker says : Danger - Use Caution - Moving parts and hot surfaces below.

I have seen a couple of guys put custom stickers i. e. Cummins Power, on the front of the raised part where the Danger sticker is.

Had mine since June- John is a great guy. He has them available in Red, green, White, Black, and some that are unfinished. It is made from aluminum. He does not ( to my knowledge ) have a handle on the TDR, so phone would be best. He is sending some to Geno's and hoping they will carry them. But in the mean time, give him a call!:D :D

Hey Socal-

Get that sticker off when it's good and hot, it will peel rright off:D !! Jon says its a legal thing, but I figure if you can't figure not to put your hand in a moving fan... ... ... . God help us!!
