2001. 5 6spd. seems like power edge is who i want to go with but which one do I need EZ, Comp. truck is stock with strait pipe and western diesel airfilter. Truck has plenty of power just want to add some more get up and go and see how hi I can get that boost needle. I have two gooseneck trailers on 32ft at 17000 and 20ft at 12,000. truck has no problem with either just want more get up and go when i am not pulling. Where is the best place to do my shopping?

For your first bomb, definately go with the EZ on the HO. Even with stock injectors, you can toast the exhaust manifold, turbo, etc. with the comp, you'll end up running WAY TOO HOT to do any good. Even a PE box will overheat the engine on you. Go with the EZ, and maybe later get some DDII injectors.

I bought my EZ for Aaron Stewart at Poweredge (www.edgeproductsinc.com)

can we say SMOKE? :D

I agree, I had the EZ in my otherwise stock truck for a few months, before my BOMB run, and it was a great improvement over stock, really makes the ETH move out. Any more and you'll be saving for a clutch pronto.

I went with VanAakin. I really like the change in the torque curve. It just isn't as much fun to drive w/o. I see 32psi on the boost guage. I also have a PS boost module and elbow. The VA does't include a boost module like the Edge EZ.

On http://www.wwcd2.com group discount you can buy a VA for 395. 00 and I seen boost modules used for 60. 00.

I noticed that you have a post turbo pyro. I would suggest a pre turbo pyro soyou can monitor EGT more closely. If you are looking to BOMB I would strongly suggest saving money for a new clutch. The stock ETH clutch does not like BOMBing. It will hold 275's OR a VA etc. etc. , but not both!

Edge Comp

I had the first Edge Comp installed by Diesel Injection Service in Lubbock put on my 1998 24V 2500 and cannot believe the amount of power even at the lowest of the 5 possible settings. Also had them install a SPA Technique pyrometer/boost gauge at the same time. You really have to pay attention to the gauges with the Comp. I would highly recommend the Comp as a first power booster. Really got my attention when I went to pass a vehicle going 72 MPH and blew right by him. Also suggest that everyone watch their cool-down procedure with the turbo. Takes a while with the trans in neutral for it to cool to 300 degrees. Leaving it in drive adds about 100 degrees and makes cool-down even more difficult.
