A few days ago I posted, First Brake Down, I got the truck back from the dealer Yesterday, Though everything was fine, until I look under the truck today, Leaking fluid all over, I check the pump its almost empty. It goes back to the dealer tomorrow. Maybe they will get it right this time.

Don't count on it,

But hey if it werent for the lost time the price is right. Make em fix it till it's right. What a bunch of Bozo's these dealers have in their repair departments.

Let me guess,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Hey Thunderball,

Thought you left the state till I read your first post about the PS pump. Are you dealing with Chesterfield Dodge by any chance? I've heard quite a few people say that they were real dissapointed with their service. Shoot me a PM if you don't want to mention them on the board. Hope who ever is working on it, gets it right for you.

Hey RATTLINRAM

NO I haven't left the state, just been working alot. And I don't mind telling, Its LAWRENCE DODGE. I took the truck in today, they took it strate back, and three of them got right on it, but they couldn't find the leak!, So they belive sence the brakes are tied in that an air must have been in the line, and that why the fluid went down. they think the fluid I saw under the truck was leftover from the other day. Sence they don't have a steam cleaner or any real way to clean the motor. They said for me to keep an I on it.

So I left there and took it to a friend shop, paid him $25. 00 To clean the motor.

I guess it possible, But I did wipe everything down when I saw the fluid. and when I got to the dealer today, there was more fluid under the truck. Guess I just have to waite and see. They replace the P/S pump and a Chuck gear, they said the chuck gear started leaking which cause the pump to go bad. And I still don't know what the heck is a Chuck Gear?.

Well talk to you guys later

Happy Holidays

Thunderball,

The chuck is Chrysler's term for the steering gear box.

If the PS fluid was quite low after service the pump could have areated the fluid (causing foam and a noisy pump) and can make the system puke out the excess foam/fluid. After running check the fluid if it's all full of bubbles you may have found your cause. But if this the case, it will make the fluid come out of the PS pump fill cap.

Hey Wayne

I think what you said is about right, I did see the foam, and i was not sure about the P/S gear box, I though it look new, I don't know why they don't call it what it is. GEAR BOX.

Well they must have been right, After I had the motor clean everything looks good, I have not seen any more fluid. I only wonder why the gear box went south?. I myself have never heard of a P/S gear box going bad on anything.

Now I can get back into the spirit of X-Mas, SO Marry Marry Everybody:D :D And Happy New Year:D :D :D

Thanks

Thunderball

Don't Feel Too Bad !

My Son has a new Ford P/S and the box went out at 6000 miles. Ford replaced it and it leaked like a sieve. Found out a hose was CROSSTHREADED in the box. Ford replaced it and alls well. The stearing box looks like Aluminum.
