Bought my first CTD recently and just became a member today. A friend gave me a copy of the TDR magazine and it has so much useful info that I signed right up. Wanted to make my first post and say howdy.

The truck is in my sig. I found it on ebay. To get the other guy to stop bidding and let me have the truck I had to pay a little more than I intended but it's a pretty nice truck :). Previous owner had owned it since '99.

He had never heard of the KDP so I checked it right away. No problem and now the front oil leaks are taken care of too. I removed the brush guard and installed the foglights on the rear bumper wired into the backup lights.

The original owner of the truck installed the Banks Stinger Plus kit. It seems to run pretty good to me but I haven't driven any other CTD to compare. The literature says the kit includes a turbo housing but mine is a Holset. Isn't that stock? Banks seems to get a bad rap for being overpriced for what you get but mine came with the truck so I'm glad to have it...

I have yet to check the fuel mileage. Twice now I have disconnected the batteries which resets the tripmeter. Duh.

I really like driving this truck. I've never owned anything like it. My little 1/2-ton '72 Chevy Cheyenne looks so small parked next to it. I love my old Chevy but I love my new Dodge too. I bought it to tow my 22-foot fishing boat. I was towing it, a short distance, with my '88 Jeep Cherokee and it was scaring the crap out of me and everyone else on the road. My new CTD doesn't seem to realize the boat is back there :-laf

I've got access to all the content now so I'm sure I'll be spending more time here than I should. I look forward to contributing... .

A big howdy to Dave, see you at work Tuesday...

Welcome to TDR. You'll love this site, lotsa usefull info and knowledgeable people willing to help.

Nice looking truck. You'll love driving a diesel... . especially a Cummins. How many miles on the truck. Looks like you got a good start on mods with gauges in.

Dave

Welcome! Looks like you did well and got the right year!

Did you check the block for the "53". Some of the 12 valve 98's had it.

The Banks "turbo housing" you are refering to could be the exhaust side. Should be easy enough to check.

Dog hair... LOL!:-laf

Nice truck!

WHAT?? they don't ALL come with dog hair?? I don't call mine Dieseldoghouse for nuthin!. Seriously welcome! you got a great truck. And you'll hafta put alot more than that boat behind her for her to notice!!! Here's to many happy miles (a million plus??) and limitless help from the talented and generous folks that make this website work!!

That is a great looking dog on the trailer there. The truck looks good too. Welcome to the TDR and enjoy. When I joined my wife said I became addicted to reading TDR. I told her she can continue teaching dance, because I support her habit, and now she supports mine. I don't like it when I can't read my TDR :)

John,

Welcome to the world of Dodge CTD. That paint is really shining. I bought my truck on ebay like you did. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine. You can probably guess by my sig that I think your choice of a 98 12valve is excellent.
