Well i just got back from delivery on some parts and as i pulled into the dock i was starring at my truck and noticed a DENT:eek: ... When i went to look for a closer inspection there are also scratches after this dent for about 2 feet... . they are fine and will be buffed out hopefully... . the actual dent is about the size of a quarter and then it flares (how dents normally work) Its pushed in about 1/8 of an inch... . Anyone have any idea how much this is going to cost me to have it pulled. .

WHERE IT HAPPEN = CAR WASH:{ . . Yesturday i went for a car wash and it happen during the car wash but i obviously didnt catch it untill this morning... after the car wash i went right home and the truck didnt move for the night. I cant go back to the car wash and say you guys did this because there is no proof... So i will just never go there again... and they just lost about 300 dollars worth of business a month because many of my family go there... . Sucks ass to pay 23 dollars for a car wash and then have this happen :mad: ... . A word for all you guys... When you find a good car wash do not try others... . :{

find a paintless dent removal guy he should be able to do it for about $125. Stop at a BMW or some other expensive car dealer and see f they can recomend one the guys around here use them all the time.

Any chance you can get one of those dent repair places to fix it-some idiot opened a tank door (OK a '70's detroit iron) into one of the sliding doors on my minivan when it was new. :mad:

I took it to a paintless dent fix place, and it cost about $65 and now I can't tell which door was fixed. It was deep enough to put a dime in.

I always worry about hidden damage like that when renting a car.

When I was in high school my buddy had a 1980 Mustang-his pride and joy-took it to get detailed-when we showed up to pick it up the drivers door was hanging by a rope-I said thinking out loud-why did they take the door off to detail it? Ends up that the idiot backed it out of the bay with the door opened-snagged it and pullled it off. It was immediately off to the Ford place for repairs $$$

Sorry to here about your dent I know the feeling I came out to find a quarter sized door ding with just 2200 miles on the truck I called and found a guy somewhat local with the dent wizard company and met him in a parking lot and $40 later it was gone! I think the Dent Wizard company has an office in Chicago

I caught the guy that put the dent in my door. I guess he felt that he needed to open his door as far open and as fast as possible. He saw me coming and got this. . Oh great!! look in his eye. I said, "Your door just hit mine?" And he said, "I think" so I said that i was going to have to grab his insurance info and the guy turned into a real jerk. . Well to make a long story short his insurance company paid me 385 plus rental to get it fixed. . So I bought the Edge Ez instead and will take it to a paintless dent repair place and get it fixed. The dent isn't even that big. . I was surprised when they told me how much it was going to be to have it fixed right.

Thanks guys. JVMoore I asked my dad who he used and the company is DENTMASTER INC. The guys name is John T. Mason. He did a real good job on my dads car. I am gonna call him up and see what he can do. My dad said it was 100 bucks for his dent. 100 dollars doesnt seem that bad. Maybe mine will be cheap because the body is as think as paper :MAD:

Maybe its time for some stainless steel rocker guards :)

Good choice, I would have done the same!:)

Here's one better for you guys... ... . I was helping my brother last weekend..... he is building a house... ... . I was on the second floor when I heard this commotion coming from across the street and before my eyes a BIG rental truck... ... . family was moving in... ... came rolling down the drive with the home owner in it saying he couldnt stop run into the rear bumper of my truck.

Needless to say I rushed right over after saying a few choice words and asking him if he knew what the middle pedal was used for and all he could say was... ... I'm so sorry... ... . over and over and over.

All said and done it was $1152 damage and the bumper cost 377 everything else was paint and labor.

I watch where I park at now

A friend of mine just bought a 04 lwb 4x4 CTD and went to the gas station to get some groceries... He came out of the store, got into his truck and commenced to back out of his parking spot and over one of those semi-circle steel pipes buried in concrete. Buckled his back bumper and momentarily high centered him!!! THE SAME DAY THAT HE BOUGHT IT!!!!:{

Automatic car washes really take a toll on the paint, especially Patriot Blue trucks. I wash my truck by hand and occasionally go to a DIY car wash.

I have three door dings in the passinger side of my truck. The bad thing about it is, they all happened in my own driveway. People are so excited to come over and see the new house. They park in the driveway because my girlfriends Jeep sits dent free in the garage. Have you ever wanted to strangle people you know. The last one was the worst, the biggest dent and scratch I have received. I screamed, kicked, puched,swore up and down, and even threw a couple of things. I didn't know what to do. I mean my Mother apologized several times, but it doesn't fix my truck. But I have to forgive her, she did give birth to me.

You bunch of Pansies:)

I had to fight, kick, bust a@@, and generally make my truck earn all of its character marks... ... ... . They used to be called dings and scratches.

Car Wash, jeez.

Sorry about the dent X.

I used Dentmasters once when I lived in Glen Ellyn. I had a Saturn with plastic side panels thinking I would have a dent free car. The spring after I bought it a hail storm came through and dented the steel hood, roof, and trunk. About 50 dings total. I took it to them and they fixed them all without touching the paint for $500. They did an excellent job.

I did find one highly reputable car wash. It's called Rosco's Sud's and Bubbles :D . In all seriousness if you are as anal with your truck as I am with mine you better start washing it yourself otherwise your paint will suffer.

It's SOOOOooo annoying when you gripe at someone for marring your truck, and THEY say "but it's ONLY a truck... "

Hell, I probably paid half again as much for my "only a truck" than they did their ricebox grocery hauler - it might not be much to THEM, but it's MINE, and I expect the SAME consideration outta them for my "only a truck" as I would if it was a new Rolls Royce...

NO apologies! :rolleyes:
