First Gen Bucket Seats

Glen, why do dogs always prefer the driver's seat in CTD's. I have to push my labs over to the passenger side so I can drive!! Has anyone ever tried "Big-Rig" seats in their trucks. Saw a set of pretty nice Bostroms in a junkyard truck a while back and kinda wondered, what if? Ilike the buckets in my 93, but they need to be recovered, and the 91 is on it's second bench. Some of the nice looking seats I've seen look like they would take up too much room front-to-back to work out good in a regular cab.

I think you misunderstand who's truck it is. As far as they are concerned you are just the fellow that they let drive since there are so many other things that they have to attend to like keeping motercycles, airplanes, other canines, and such from getting too close to THEIR truck. They also realize that you need the seat to be warm so as to be on their way more quickly when you finally get back to the truck from whatever friviolus errand you have abandone them for.



The big rig seats are too tall with the air ride mechanism. There is a low rider seat made for the Kodiac (GMC) trucks that will work since those trucks use a regular GM cab. The price is kind'a strong and I haven't sprung for one just yet. Sure thought about it though.

I think that is pretty simple to explain, I am the one they are attached to the most. They see me as the source for food, water and all the trips we go on. Since I leave out that door and always come back in that door, they are just there to greet me! Who needs a heated driver's seat? Just toss in a Shepherd and it will be warm when you get there. That is exactly the handle I was refering to. The seat tilt. That explains it.

Thank you guys also for offering your old buckets to me. I really appreciate the offer (and it is kind acts like that, that make the TDR what it is). I will pass on the offer though, as I will need mint seat (these should take a while to find) as the truck will be compleatly restored by spring and to not have the seats being perfect, well, you know where this is going. If the offer still stands that you want to get rid of some seats, I believe ggsoldan is looking for some... ...

There was a pair of red seats out of a Ramcharger over on e-bay yesterday starting bid was $25, if anyone is interested.

I am looking for a pair of gray LE buckets and a console for my '93 and a pair of blue with console for my '89, these I'll more than likely have to recover another color.

So if anyone in Indiana runs across a decent set they don't want let me know.
