The newest issue of the TDR says about the new AFE intake system:

Can you buy just the hose ( 6" ) with the filter, with out the box?

I went to http://www.afefilters.com/Homepage4. asp and I cant find where you can just buy the hose and filter. Are these available separately? Anybody?

Yes, but just touching it on someone elses truck will add a minimum of 35Hp !!!



Seriously, seeing the real thing (although keep in mind that the pictured is a prototype- but does closely resemble the production model) and hearing Nick speak about it, there is alot that went into this thing. Pricey, probably... ... but it is quite nice. keep in mind too that is an MSRP price.....



Oh- and the main purpose for bringing this back to the top... ... ...

I spoke to Nick at AFE today, and he told me that the pieces WILL be available seperately. I will get pricing from him next time I speak with him. Or better yet, have them reflect this on their website.

The price was much better. But I think I will try my used Volant for a while. For $200 Its worth a shot. Are there any real hp #'s on the AFE yet?

Did you have to stuff the intake tube into the filter about 3 inches? Doing this efectively shortens the filter by 1. 5 inches. Did yours come with the hose to go through the cowl?I just got a Volant used from another member and Im not very happy with the fit. Maybe I did something wrong but I dont think so.

Yes I Lopped off a good heathy chunk of intake tube. You Simply have the filter inside the box and assemble it ans slide it back thru the round hole and butt the clamp up to it making your connection. Hose thru the cowl? Uhh If it did I haven't any idea where it is?? LOL!

ToolMan Thanks for your help!!! I thought I was going to take a big hammer to it. It just didnt look right. Did you bother drilling a hole for the filter minder?
