Truck started dingin around 3800mi, even tho I drive mostly highway. Dealer had offered me a free first oil change, but couldnt get there till 4300mi. I take it in, wait a half hour, take a walk across the street for a taco, come back. . An hour has passed. Service manager finds me and says, "I`m sorry sir we didnt have the filter or the oil in stock"... ... ... ... Takes em an hour to figure that out? jeez... So my next one is free, I`m gonna make sure they have it in stock before I even get there.
The real reason for my post is I just changed the oil on my truck a few minutes ago. . The oil filter was REALLY friggin tight. I even had one of them oil filter socket things, and it wouldnt touch it. I had to take the intake hose (with stupid egr thingie) off, and use a pair of BF'in channellocks to loosen the filter. And even that was hard with 16" of leverage. The gasket stuck to the housing also. .
One thing I really noticed is the threads are much much shorter than my 05. probably 3-4 turns and its done rather than 8-10 on my 05.
So that may be something to watch out for if anyone tries their own oil change.
good luck

edit--- Also removed the silencer from the intake tube while I had it off. Was very easy to take out, not like my 05, where I had to cut the plastic tube to get the inner baffles out. Didnt like the idea of foam before the turbo, it could break down eventually and get sucked in. not good.
