first oil change

How long are you going before the first oil change on a new truck? How soon can I switch to synthetic oil?

I changed mine at 3,000 (0ld habit) and then 3k to 4k but thats me. Your owners manual should say 7500 for heavey duty use.

Changed mine as 2035 miles exactly. It was the soonest I could do it. I'm going to do it again this coming weekend and I just turned 6000 miles. It's very cold here so I don't do them here in the winter. Akiren is correct. Consult your owners manual and you should be just fine.



The dino/synthetic oil debate still rages on this board. Me, I'm going to switch when I get to about 15K miles. Should be getting warm around here by then.
