First oil change

Going to do my first oil change on my 2004 ram h. o. Question,what mileage to do this at,2000 miles or wait till I have a few more miles for proper breakin period ?? Thanks. coobie

you will probably get 1000 different answers on this. personally i will change mine at 4000 ----- i think. only 3100 to go!

To each his own, on the 1st oil change. Bottom line: whatever lets you sleep good at night!

I changed mine a lot in the beginning (1000, 3000, 6000, 10000... ). I enjoy doing it (when the weather's nice), and don't really worry too much about the extra money. I feel good about getting the early stuff out, but there have been some posts about break-in fluid put in by the factory, that should be left in place for a while. Don't know whether this was ever confirmed, you may want to search for the posts. Maybe someone will chime in.
