First oil change?

I'm sure this question has been answered, but in my brief search I didn't find the answer I needed.



I've got a '04 HO with 2800 miles on it. When should I get the first oil change and should I trust my dealer to do it? I got coupon in the mail and it said they would do it for free My truck won't see much towing until the spring and so far it has just been local driving.



I was going on about a 600 mile round trip this weekend and thought I should get it done before I left. It will be my first trip in the truck, and I am very excited!Oo. (Except I'm not real excited about going to the Longaberger factory:{ )

If it was me, I would change it now and then again at 7500 miles and every 7500 miles after that.

I am meticulous (as many here are), but I allowed my dealer to perform the 1st oil change. Then it's their responsibility to get the gorilla-tight oil filter off. I stood there and watched the tech perform the oil change, and he did an outstanding job.
