About a year ago I decided on getting a new truck, I was tired of my friends V10 arriving at are camp spots 30 minutes ahead of me. He would have his trailer level and drinking a beer by the time I showed up in my F-150 V8 gasser. I wanted to try one of those diesel things, having no brand loyalty. I went and drove and priced the PS, Duramax, and the Cummins. The Dodge dealer was the only one that worked enough of the sticker about $8,000 on a $38,000 dollar truck. So I ended up with the Dodge from then I have never looked back, having owed a few vehicles in my life I have never been as pleased with any, as with this truck.

Having read the discussion forums for a few months I have received lots of information and I would like to say thanks! However, I do feel that a few of you my have lead my a little astray. I have had a Edge EZ and gauges for a few months and now I’m adding a DTT TC and valve body along with DD2 injectors. It seems weird to spend a few thousand on a truck that has nothing wrong with it. I am sick just plain sick, TDR $35 a year HA!

Before I had this sickness:

I paid someone else to change my oil.

That Toyota Tundra passing me on the hill didn’t bother me.

Never worried that I might be idling my truck to long.

Never worried about cooling down before shutdown.

Never looked at other trucks for pillar gauges.

Never felt so good passing cars on a steep hill with a 21ft trailer in tow.

:)

Welcome.

New CTDs are merely a "Blank Canvas".

Now the fun starts... ... make it "Yours"

Gentlemen start your charge cards... ... Let the "BOMBing" begin. :-laf

Yea you're sick, like many of us. And the bad thing is there's no cure:rolleyes: ;) :D Lack of funds only puts the disease into remission temporarily ... Doug:)

Absolutely. It's heavier, stronger, faster, louder, bigger, nicer, more fun, and more fuel efficient than any truck I've owned. And I'm working on the stronger/faster all the time.

Hanover,

I bought my 97 used, this January. . 4 years ago! The day that I got it home I joined the ranks of the TDR fellowship. From that time on it has been a down hill slide and its getting faster and faster. As you can see by my signature I have spent some money on our truck. But the money has been very well spent. We pull a 10k 5er once a month and it never stops to amaze me the power that this truck has.

The information that you will get from the members is limitless. I have made some great friends and they have helped me spend my money... :D :D :D ... (James,Reb)

Welcome!!!!

Hanover:

Welcome to TDR... ... you're correct..... that $35 fee is only the beginning.

I'd never heard of TDR until, of all people, the parts guy at my Dodge dealership encouraged me to check into it.

My truck isn't new, but with every new modification it sure feels like it is.

Hope you've got a good TDR regional group in your area. I attended a dyno event sponsored by Mason-Dixon TDR back in September, had a blast, and as I drove away, I knew I was going to get hooked on bombing. Made new friends there, and found some excellent folks to do the mods I wouldn't even think of trying myself.

Come early January, I'm off to Mt. Pleasant, PA where Andy and Doug of Advanced Diesel Technology will be kicking my truck up a notch. I can hardly wait!

I'm amazed at all the things I learned here about the Cummins engine that I never knew before, like cooling down the turbo before shutdown. I usually read the posts here before I even check email or have my morning cup of coffee. I learn something new and helpful here just about every day.

Enjoy your truck and this forum.

Ya know, this is exactly the way I was (except for changing the oil;))... I think I even hooked a gasser friend of mine as well; The other day we were driving down the freeway in his truck, when he sees a CTD in front of us and accelerates to get beside it... Just to check if it had guages! There were none, and he says "Aww, it's all stock!"---- Powerful, the dark side is...
