Just a short note to say HI and thanks for all the useful info. Ihave saved many times the subscription price over the last year or so due to the excellent advice given here. I have been a member for about a month but haven't had much to say... I attended the last two dyno events at KC and had a great time meeting every one. They made my 8YO son and I feel at home!Until later keep on smokin'. Jim Lanham

Happy to have you here, whether you post or not.

Interest in 1st gen trucks has been growing lately on the board, it seems. I think it's the 2nd and 3rd owner crowd are now finding them at prices such that they can afford some BOMB'ing after owning.

Welcome Jim!:)

Greatbunch of folks here in the first gen section. Someone is always willing to help out if there is a problem. Don't be afraid to post here. I was like you when I first joined - was slow to start posting. My problem was I didn't want to appear to dumb in the diesel department but over the past few years I have learned more here than I could have ever gotten on my own.

In looking at your signature, looks like you have been busy bombing your truck. Have you had it on a dyno yet? How's it run?

Dodgenstein, Great handle!

I, like you, have never posted to the TDR much, but since joining this great forum have; installed the Banks Stinger 2 package, installed boost, EGT, transmission and differential gauges, replaced the shocks, brakes, upper control arm and strut bushings and all wheel bearings and am now anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Lucas POD injectors. The beauty of this forum is that simply searching for your desired topic normally delivers massive amounts of info from those that have been there and done it already. It's like having a couple hundred mechanics as close friends:D

paccool Ihaven't dynoed my truck yet due to the stock torque convertor. Soon after installing my injectors I pulled a 9000lb load and tried to see what kind of boost numbers I could get. I felt the TC slipping,so I have been limiting the strain as much as possible. When towing I limit throtle input to keep boost below 20lbs,not too easy to do. Pump settings are stock as my Cummins reman pump is still under warrenty. Max boost unloaded WOT is 25lbs. Injectors were the best thing I have done to the truck since new! I hope I can get a decent convertor this summer.

WELCOME!!!! you'll enjoy the 1st Gen group. Pretty much all of the common ideas, problems, solutions are on record here. You won't find anyone here who's truck needs a 'pacemaker' ;) ;)

so they are alot easier to work with. Jump in anytime.
