Brakes for boat trailer

How can I move it 8'x8'x24'

Made it home from the dealer in one piece. Truck handled the new toy fine. Finally put the ole truck under a good load  As luck would have it, 2 days prior to this morning, both my EGT & Fuel psi gauges crapped out  , so I only had boost to look at on the way back. So when I get a warm (and dry) day, I get to fix that. Hope to install the transmission temp gauge at the same time.

Only questions I have... . I had a slight "hitch" & bounce going on while towing. Is this going to be normal, or can I take some of that out by going to an aftermarket shock? Its not bad, just thinking the wife might get sea sick :-laf Secondly, what are some of you running for tire pressures? I know what the book says... just curious to see if its accurate.

Otherwise, it was an easy tow. Had tractor trailers pass me with no sway/push, etc. A quick wash of the truck and I'll snap some photos to post. :D Thanks in advance.

Glen

I run ride/Rite firestone air bags, keeps the bounce out. I run 80lbs in the rear tires & 55lbs in the front while towing. My tires are 265/75/16 E

YUP - what GF said, plus, also make sure the trailer tires are at rated PSI as well - we carry 55 PSI in ours, and greatly reduced unusual tire wear patterns and sway...

I run tire pressures according to weight. My owners manual has a tire pressure table showing pressures for different weight ranges. Our 30' fiver weighs 10,000 lb. and the whole rig set up for traveling is about 17,000 lb. I took it to a CAT scale nearby and got weights on each axle. HIGHLY recommended. Using those load numbers in the tire pressure table, I've ended up running 65 psi in the trailer tires and front truck tires and 55 psi in the rear truck tires. Max inflation for the load range E tires is 80 psi, but that much is only required if your load is up close to maximum.

When not towing, I lower pressures to spec numbers for measured loads without trailer.

Hey Glen, did you see me wave at yeah on rt64. Saw it comin my way and thought it was you,and it was. Looked good. Hey Bob... saw you guys heading towards me, heard about your day at the beach. Laughed when Chris said he saw nothing but your grill and a wall of water in his rear view :D Thanks for coming over and bringing the suds :-laf Talk with you later.

Glen

OH the water  Yeah,I saw Chris hang a hard turn away from the surf, then SPLASH... ... . lucky I had my window up,the wave slammed the drivers side then came right up over the cab. I heard the turbo spoolin up and the sand was getting washed out under the wheels. I just hammered it and broke through it like a sub doing an emergency surface move... . :-laf
