Man, I hope people know how important it is to keep fresh coolant in engines like this to prevent some nasty damage.



Other than that... VM Motori has been in the automotive engine game as long as the Cummins 6BT has been around. From what I've seen... the 2. 8L ("R 428 DOHC") engines are based on their seemingly VERY popular 2. 5L 4-banger ("R 425 DOHC")...

On edit: Looks like the "R 428 DOHC" uses the same belt-driven DOHC arrangement as the "R 425 DOHC" - I was hoping for chain drive... . d'oh!
