Just got finished getting a ticket for hauling stuff in the bed of my truck without a cover/not secured. The ticket states "vegetable oil containers". So make sure if you have veggie cubes in the bed of your truck make sure you have a cover or they are somehow tied or secured. And I was just a few days away from having completely ticket free year.

NJ... . It's also the end of the year so they give out lots of tickets. Although in 20 years of driving it was my first ticket from a county mounty. I also recieved a ticket for having a dirty license plate. Oh and I am supposed to believe that they aren't any ticket quotas.

dirty tag. . holy ****!! and not having the cubes covered. . Im so happy i live in the country... better watch and make sure your head lights aren't dusty LOL... . yep end of the year and their looking for anything and everything.

Out here also

Me and a buddy made a trip to Ely, 3. 5 hrs north of here, last Thursday to fetch his small enclosed. On the way back we swapped drivers on Highway 318, middle of F'n nowhere, putting along at 72 MPH. One of the states finest flips a ***** and comes after us, says we were going 83 MPH :-{} !!!! I can vouch for my buddy, he was only going 72 (in a 70 zone). So he gets a ticket for 75 in a 70... . $67 Fuzzman sez anything over 80 is a reckless driving and a quick trip to the local judge, so he will be nice and write him up for ONLY 75 MPH, what a guy, huh?

What did the ticket say? Loaded to spill?

I can haul dam near anything around here and I doubt I'll get a ticket.

Hell, I passed a state trooper doing 45 over the posted (50 MPH) limit, and he didnt even look at me.

My mommy always told me I was special... ... :-laf

It says illegible or something... ... ... That's a bad week to drive around here. Whats even funnier my family works for the State Troopers. I might have gotten the ticket because they can't stand each other. go figure... .

MM, that way you won't fight the ticket.

My buddy says he is going to fight it and if they don't dismiss it he will tell the judge to wipe his backside with it the next time he goes to the can !!! :-laf :-laf That I want to see!!!!

The police in the town I live in are infamous for giving out tickets.

I've been pretty lucky..... besides the insurance is killing me. :-laf

Don't anyone who wears blue get the wrong idea. If you wear it you know exactly what I mean. I found that you have to be a real *** to be a cop, and I'm not an ***. Some guys just love that feeling of power. Personally, I was big on warnings. And I never, and I mean NEVER, issued a seat belt ticket!!!

IMO seatbelt tickets and cell phone tickets are a moneymaking ploy.

For as many times that I have almost gotten hit by people on cell phones while riding I don't think its a money maker, #@$%! now the seatbelt I have 22 of those.

Can't complain about the cell phone (Texas has yet to make that illegal) but seatbelts... . anyone who doesn't wear them should have to agree to void their health insurance. Riding without seat belts results in more expensive medical insurance in my opinion, as the ER's have to try adn save someone who has been thrown from the vehicle during an accident or tries to go through the front windshield.

Cheers,

Might be the 2 hours to get out of here, depends where and when you start. 257 miles from my drive way to the micky D's when you get to town. Going again this week to get buddys broken down Bronco that he dropped a valve in 3 months ago, doesn't feel like working on it in the cold up there, what a puss!!!! :-laf Think I'll let him drive again along 318, you know, just in case !! :p

I got hassled not long ago when I brought a load of scrap steel to the dump... mainly a few axles and engine blocks. They told me I needed to put a tarp on it so the parts don't fly out. Hmm... what speed do you all think I'd have to go to get an engine block to fly out? Think a tarp would stop it?

Yea but as a professional driver for 15 years, I've seen a lot too.

You can be just as "occupied" reading the paper as you drive, women putting on makeup are just as consumed, eating a sandwich, or around here most drivers are 70+ years old and are a hazard just because theyre "medicated up".

IMO nobody should be on a phone while driving, nor should they be doing all the above either and more... ... . When youre driving, that's what you should be doing.

Cant legislate everything... ..... that's my point.

I've never had a ticket but I bet if I lived in NJ that wouldn't be the case. The odds are stacked against you based on some of the signs I saw on the NJ Turnpike last year when I was driving west out of NYC: "Traffic Fines Double in 65 Zone, and Other Violations"

In most cases if you get a ticket in NJ, you REALLY tried.

Even then they'll cut you a break unless youre a real wise azz.

There a lot of variables in the above statement, but MOST of the time, MOST of the LEO's that stop you are decent guys.
