Competition Snow Performance pump dead?

Competition DHRA Info

Man, took me more then an entire year, and I didn't even get to a track that was full length!

So I'm back from my day at Grove Creek. Nice place. Love the fact that have real grass in the pits, and not dirt like some WI tracks... .

I need to get my truck on a scale. I ran no spare, no tail gate, no jack. Just me and 1/8 take fuel, and I left the seconday battery in place (well, I forgot about taking it out!). I'm HOPING to be near 7000#. This is my last unknow variable.

My goal was to be in the ball park of this truck I found on Dragtimes.com.

http://www.dragtimes.com/Dodge-Ram-2500-Timeslip-5740.html

Temps were 75 and 80% humity. Not ideal. But not totaly bad either.

The link above, temps for this truck was 65, prolly alot less humity. So what's that good for?

My best time:

9. 213 at 78. 29mph with a 1. 95 60 foot and . 261 (sleeping) RT.

Not bad. Accoring to Turbo Tweeker, he was doing that at 425RWHP. And I know them 2nd gens are atleast 500# at min lighter then the 3rd gens.

My issues:

I couln't get but 2 descent 4x4 launches. I have to weed though my many slips but I have a 1. 85-sh 60 foot in here some place I'm sure. Either the track was to sticky, or my tires are just to tall. I do no recall having this problem with the stock 265's while I was stock last year. I was able to drop the clutch at 2500rpm, get a bit of wheel spin and not notice the motor bogg down at all last year.

I know if I can get a perfect, non bogging down launch then I can run 9. 0 flat with this combination.

Getting boost is rather impossible. my feet aren't big enough to heal toe it or something. I'm thinking a line lock or a remote way to disenguage the parking break.

My Settings:

Hot juice on 4 is slower then on 5 with stock turbo and fueling system. I prolly don't get the most outa 5 yet because of hte stock turbo.

Ez on 3 and hot on 5, a bit slower then ez on 2. . Ez on 3 I can smack 1350egt easly by the end of the 1/8th.

Offical best setting is Hot on 5, LBF on 4, ez on 2.

That ConFE:

Nice clutch. wow. A few times I slipped the dog poop outa it and it didn't even smell! (bad? bad idea to have no odor? maybe to much wind? :) dunno).

3rd gear lauches never panned out to be anything more then a 10 second pass. A few times I just sat a 3000rpm WOT and clutch enguaged and puttzed down the 60 foot. Or... . It grabbs and boggs. I couldn't find much of a happy medium. I desided I wasn't going to push this much more, I don't need to spend another $1600 for parts and labor to replace it after 7000 miles.

The need to have boost on the launch is necessary to get any more outa this config to get a few 1/10's of the ET's

I can totaly see this config really shine in a full 1/4. Low 14's is not outa the question right now for sure. 5th and 6th pull hard. I'm just nearing the end of 5th once I get though the trapps and have a full gear to go. And in 6th's with not much going on for the last half of the track, it's much much easier to roll that peddle to no bump into the emmissions stuff that slows you down.

Reaction times:

Yeah, I can cut a good light still. The tree was set to . 000 for a perfect light. When I was concentrating on my R/T's. I was doing . 02's . 01's most of the time.

Conclusions:

This truck can break into the 8. 9's with 420-440 RWHP (I'm sure the ezed added a few HP extra).

I need to dyno this config again at Hi-Tech, I'll wait on that until I get the FASS in place.

With some practice, I can not just mash the go peddle to WOT, but near. that's my biggest problem.

I need to get this truck on a scale. If it's over 7000#'s. you guys that run as fast as me in autos's in lighter trucks can just shut up already! :) We'll wait and see on that. :-laf

My next set of tires will be E rather, and no bigger then 285's. Maybe even back to 265. Yeah, the truck won't look at cool like it does with the nitto's but, I'll get som ET outa of that. :)

I have some pics the GF took of a smoky run and a nice little burn out. Be a while but I'll get them on here

Whadda ya all think? Ideas? suggestions? tips?

Manual seems to be very tough for drag racing. Seems to be a few that can row fast to drag race, but you are still at a disadvantage over autos. That being said I ran the Hot Juice/Attitude and EZ stacked on mine for a while.

You really need a Lift Pump upgrade and turbo to use the potential for that stack. I doubt the stock turbo could get you into the 8s 1/8 mile or 13s 1/4 mile without gernading.

With the FASS and II SPS66 turbo I ran consistant 8. 8s 1/8s and 13. 8s 1/4s with the HOT Juice/Attitude and EZ stack. That was with BFG 315s. The tires do seem to slow you down quite a bit over stock size. Just my experiences.

BTW my race weight is 7120lbs without me.
