There was a Dynojet shoot-out in town this weekend put on by a local speed shop, these guys are a bunch of die hard Ford fanatics. The diesel class was definatley in the minority having only having 8 participants, 6 Powerstrokes and one GM 6. 5, a Duramax and me with the lone Cummins/Dodge. To make a long story short I put down 437 HP and 953 ft-lbs on the very first run of the day on the dyno
The shop dyno operator was absolutly astounded at the torque that my truck put out and informed me that 953 ft-lbs was a new record on their dyno
The nearest one of the "in house" Powerstrokes came to my numbers was 390 Hp and 812 ft-lbs.
It was a real blast to watch the small block gassers on NO2 (bottle babies :-laf ) try to knock down my HP numbers. It wasn't till after lunch that a few big block gassers on NO2 posted around 530 HP.
What a day! I ended up winning first place in the "Diesel King of Torque" class
, got a cool trophy, smartly spanked the "house Powerstrokes" ,set a local torque record and got a $100 gift cirtificate for anything at their shop... which I'll use for dyno time.
Luckily there where not any other bombed Cummins that attend, I know on this board that 953 ft-lbs is middle of the road torque
Special thanks goes out to Joe Donnelly and Piers for their presence here and pearls of wisdom over the last couple of years
