Lets see... ... ..... I have had all cummins/Doge since 89-06.

1. Make sure you put Diesel in it :-laf

2. Don't be afraid to WORK it, it's a truck and the Motor loves it's job.

3. Keep up with regular maintanence!!! It may cost more than a gasser but you can get a half million miles or more from these engines... ...

I want to do as many performance mods as I can without voiding warranty

Then you are already done modding your engine. Unfortunately, voiding warranty seems to be something that avoids being quantified. It varies from dealer to dealer and from the day to day mood of the dealer tech that is working on your truck. Some dealerships have more patience for mods than others. If you do a search, you will find a myriad of threads on the subject. There have been guys that got their warranty voided for velcro in the engine compartment, others have left their mods in place with no questions asked. Basically what I have found on this site is the saying that if you modify, you become your own warranty station. This is something you should pay particular attention to if you want to mod your truck. Only you can answer the question of whether or not you can afford your own repairs.

I too was looking to mod my truck, but since I have been a member here, I have decided to leave it alone until the factory warranty has run out, then look out!!!!! :-laf
