Finally made it around to Cummins

Yes I understand I have no intension of ever putting anything in the PU bed I guess I will have to refuel every 250 miles lol.

No but everything the wife adds to the bedroom is going to be 100% pin weight.

Since you said you plan to tow it 75% of the time a DRW really is a better option, but that is a beautiful SRW.

Yes I told the wife if she wants the black Limited crew cab short bed truck then you can't have any washer and any dryer in that RV will be too heavy for the truck so she said okay no problem no washer no dry she's his honey you Stewart will do the we'll do the washing of the laundry at the KOA s here we go see guys see what I got myself into washing laundry every day just kidding what.

If the trailer is ready for pickup you could ask to do one final test drive with the trailer and go by the scales.

One thing that hasn’t come up is real world pin weight vs brochure pin weight. I know my brochure tongue weight is about 3/4 of real empty tongue weight. My parent 5er was similar. Batteries, propane, and options aren’t included in brochure weight.

I’d just hate to see you stuck with the SRW and be too heavy on the rear axle to tow your trailer.

It should be doable, but if you can do a towing test drive then do it.

There is no way the dealership would let me do that taking rides empty is fine but with a trailer NO WAY.

Ok if that is the case please give me a call 4342515007.

I looked on the doorjam and it says gvwr 11800 so that means let me find what the weight of the truck is.

You can find weights here under technical information.

https://www.ramtrucks.com/ram-commercial/body-builders-guide.html

It say's the base weight is 7,622, FAW of 4,683, and RAW of 2,939. But that doesn't include options, and is a base model.

You can also find the optional equipment weights on that page.

All that aside, you really won't know unless you hit the scales. My '18 was 275lbs heavier on the rear axle than advertised weight, and the weights listed on the option page only account for about 1/3 of that.

If they won't let you tow with it, then at least take it to the scales to get a starting point.

75% towing miles is a lot different than 10-20% towing miles.

Does the AirRide help in the ride and sagging of the rear from the weight????????????

You tell me, FULL RAWR in pic of 9,750#, truck sets exactly the same unloaded.

I could not get the RV spec page to load. What is the GVWR??? Take 25% of that number and plan on that being your pin weight!

My RV weighs 23k and pin is right at 25%. Last RV the same.

I can guarantee your wife will NOT like doing laundry in the campgrounds.

Get the correct truck the first time!!!

GVWR of the 377RLBH is 16,750. 25% would be 4190lbs and too heavy. 20% would be 3350 and doable, but loading will be key.

It’s “shipped” at 20%.

This is where 10% towing miles is quite different that 75% towing miles.

I did check the truck and the Sticker on the doorjam says gvwr is 11800 so I though we subtract the curb weight from the 11800 and put pin weight and people and thats what we can haul YES????????

Curb Weight 6728 lbs

Let me mention that when we get to our rv spot we will unhitch and drive the truck as our car to some extent I would also lower the rear tires down to 45psi so maybe I was wrong and I would most likely tow 40 percent of the time.

There is more to it that GVWR. Probably another thread but that number isn’t the important one. FAWR and RAWR are more important.

99% of pin weight goes on the rear axle, so your rear axle will likely hit its limit first.

Curb weight is not that light. That might be a gas tuck, the curb weight of a tradesman CC SB is 7622, plus Limited and options. It’s likely closer to 8K full of fuel and no driver.

My 2500 gasser weighed @7400 with a full tank and me in it with normal "stuff" that accumulates, and that was a Tradesman. Around 3300 on the rear axle.

Okay guys yes I have decided to go back to Kernersville I'm going to buy the below truck the link here I looked over the numbers and I looked over the numbers and I looked over the numbers and no matter which way I cut it it's still only five or six hundred dollars 600-lb away from being overloaded I guess on that rear axle so it's a lot easier for me just to eat some Crow and go over the carnival and buy this silver truck and it's got every safety feature that the limited had its just doesn't have the super duper fancy leather it has the and it's a very very nice truck and it doesn't have the sunroof and it doesn't have some of the other features but it's got a 410 rear end and it would absolutely no problem go up any Hill in the Colorado Rockies at least that I know of all right so yep again you guys have helped me all the advice is how big time so yeah we can't be unloaded you can't be over you're going to be overloaded with that single rear wheel so I've decided to go with the dual rear wheel and that will do it and she can put her in the washer and dryer and she can have all kinds of stuff and she can do so thanks so much for your advice guys and I have listened and I'm going to eat some Crow and bury my pride and go back over to Kernersville oh well such as life and I'm going to save $11,000 as well and remember the old saying $11,000 saved is $11,000 earned our guys thanks for all your advice I have listened and Soviet and I put a deposit on that about black truck but I'll let him keep it it's not a big deal.

I used voice to text and it does not work as well as I would like it to work so I guess you guys get the basic gist of the deal I'm going to go back to Kernersville and I'm going to get the silver truck thanks guys.

okay thanks very much yeah it's got the 410 in the thousand foot pounds of torque and it's a dually I love it I wonder if I can drop the rear tires down to 50 psi and have any problem towing I think somebody had that somewhere I'll look it up though but yeah I think we can go down to 50 psi on the dually tires when towing and when not towing?????

I put some tire pressure and load info in post #155 of this thread.

Without hitting the scales I’d run 60-65 loaded, but after a trip to the scales I bet you could drop to 50-55 loaded.

Either way I’d run 35 empty. You might be able to go lower in winter if you live in an area of lots of snow/ice and plan to drive the truck empty.

Ok so I just found the post about air pressure and it looks like 50psi would be ok even with load the Jayco has a pin weight of 2800 empty so I will have to get them to lower the pressure down to 50 hope it works guys.
