Ya, it sure would be nice to have an idle up option. I just stick the long handled ice scraper under the seat on top of the loud pedal. Our Ferds here at work do that and they sure warm up alot faster.

How cold was it? I've started mine many times after sitting all night in temperatures under 20 degrees F. Mine has only fast-idled once after it sat for a minute or two idling in 20 degree temps. Other than that, it has NEVER fast-idled. I've even let it idle for five minutes to see if it would idle-up on it's own. Thoughts?

Mine goes into fast idel after 2 minutes at 0 degrees celius (32 degrees)

It is a neat feature... especially when you park next to a gm or ford and they ask "How did you get your Truck to idel up you were outside the vehicle:( :( :(

Yep, mine does NOT go to fast idle even after 3 minutes under 32 degrees.

It was 20 degrees; I started it and was scrapping the frost off the windows. It fast idled after 30 secornds to a minute. I've had it fast idle after sitting parked and idling for several minutes too.
