Prodigies and downhill?

Ramboy: We just drove through your neck of the woods with our 5er last weekend on our way back from Colorado. You've got some pretty cool looking reservoirs there.

Fiver

IMHO

We lived full time in a HitchHiker 39 foot for over 8 years. Never a problems in weather from 110 in Hot Texas to 2 degrees in cold NC. Used the washer dryer almost every other day. It was a great unit and will buy another if we go back full timing. Travel Surpreme, Newmar, Teton, and several brands are also great full time units. Just make sure you have the right truck to pull and, most of all, STOP the RV you decide on. With weights on large loaded RV's up to 22,000 pounds, most 3/4 ton and some 1 ton are overloaded by many of the large fiver RV's.

Just my thoughts, and good luck, you should enjoy the road, we did.

Tractorface,

We've owned a 2002 travel Supreme with 3 slide outs for about a year. We leave it at Gulf Shords, AL during the summer, and plan to visit the West all next year. We've experienced zero problems with the unit. It's designed for full time use (heavy insulation, double glass winsows, solid wood cabinets, etc. ) If you're going to full time, be sure and get a unit with thre slideouts. The extra room may very well save your marriage! Travel Supreme has terriffic warranty service. They don't require you to take the unit to a dealer for warranty service, you just use any competent repair facility, have them call the factory (toll free) for an authorization, and they send a check for the work.

I pull the fiver (15,000 lbs. ) with a 2003 CTD Ram 3500 SRW 4wd short box, with the H. O. engine, 6 speed, 4. 10 axle, box stock, and it tows like a dream. It's the best truck I've ever owned. (19. 5 mpg empty, and 11. 5 pulling the fiver.

GO FOR IT!

I have had two Thor travel trailers. One a Glide Lite and one a regular 25rl with a slide. Although I had minor problems with each they were quickly fixed by the dealer. Currently I have a brand new Terry which I haven't used enough to give a durability report but I love the layout.

I would think that if you plan on full timing that an entry level trailer would probably not be the best choice. Slideouts are a must. Washer/dryer are not very efficient so washing for a family would best be done at a laundry mat. Depending on what kind of camping you will be doing an onboard generator might be good, my wife would not let me spend the money on one. Hope some of this is useful.

It's maybe 10 plus years old, and maybe a little hard to locate.

Hint..... don't stop in Vegas to restate your marriage vows.

A absolutely agree. BTW, there is not a Der Weinerschnitzel in Safford, AZ. Don't plan on getting a job working at it!
