Some folks like to keep new parts on there trucks, but when a part needs to be fixed or replaced time after time, its time to modify.
Heres what I did to mine to fix the WIF sensor.
When changing the fuel filter the wires become tangled together and eventually break. What I did--Used my Dremel tool with a grinding wheel, bared the ends of the sensor probes down about 1/2", caution here, don't grind on the probes, just clean them for a good connection. Now you can make the sensor leads as long or short as you like. Get some BULLET connectors, (they are round) and use the FEMALE ends ( get the right size) and crimp the connector to the wires, and push on the end of the sensors. Now make the main WIF connection. Now you can disconnect the wires @ the probe, before you remove the filter and save the broken wires. ( you can install the filter and then make the sensors wire connection if you like. )
Note; some times the probe can be installed to far thus turning on the WIF lite. Just back of the probe far enough to turn off the lite.
