We're in the process of migrating the entire site to different forum software. No ETA, depends on what we find throughout testing.

We're transitioning to Xenforo. They've been the leader the past few years, started by the guys who left VBulletin when the company was bought out. It's mobile friendly, super fast, an easy transition for VBulletin users, huge amount of aftermarket addons, etc. Cross-browser friendly, etc.

I hope to have a beta preview available by the end of this coming week.

User passwords and ids will remain unchanged. There are a handful of users I'll need to email to let them know their user id has changed slightly (Xenforo does not support commas in user names). Our case is a bit different from most VB to XF migrations, as I'm having to write custom PHP code to replace some of the custom code already in place to support TDR magazine subscriber integration.

I do the Linux and Win Server admin part. But growing tired of it. i'm ready to do something else.
i do also like converting peoples "troubled" computers to Linux though.

Hey guys (and gals),

I didn't want to leave you hanging. Unfortunately, I did not get everything ready to have a beta site which could be viewed last week. Between a super bad sinus infection (which caused vertigo and subsequently a slip in a bathtub that left a baseball-sized bruise!) and our water heater deciding to leak costing me another day off, plus the articles not moving over correctly... it was not to be.

Now on the bright side the forum portion of the beta migration was flawless, and the XF version of the site is super fast compared to the current VB version. The side bar layout is better, social network integration better (users register on the forums via Facebook and other major social network accounts), the menus are better, mobile/tablet display much better, etc. Given how my week was last week, plus the upcoming Christmas holiday, I'm going to refrain from giving a schedule. But I will get it done as quickly as I am able.
