I bought my truck (97 2500 4X4) in May. I got a real good deal on it becasue of a few problems it had. Bad tires, a stuck horn button, AC not blowing cold air; just a few minor problems. I figured the AC just need some R134, so I took it to a buddy of mine the day after I bought it. Plenty of 134. Relays working fine; we couldn't find anything wrong with the AC, put the compressor wouldn't come on. I make the wonderful trip to a Dodge Dealership. They inform me that I have a bad computer and want $700 to replace it. I find a buddy that can get it at a discount, and only cost me $360. I save up all summer and finally buy the computer and install it. No AC. Nothing any differnt. Now I've got a computer that I can't return (No returns on special orders, or electrical equip. ) So, I'm saving up money to go to another dealership and just tell them to fix it. This past weekend I decided to go ahead and clean my horn button and replace the blown fuse for it. I had to replace the 20amp fuse inside the relay box under the hood. It works fine now. Driving down the road the other day, I thought about the fuse I replaced being in the relay box. Hmmmm. I wonder?? I turn my AC on, and Walahh!! Cold air! Beats the **** outta me, but I'm glad its working now, even though I'm out $360. Sorry this was so long, but I just had to tell sombody, and who knows; maybe this will help somebody else.
