That Damned right seatbelt I have heard gruff from by my wife is finally fixed... the little plastic thing in the pic is the culprit.

There is a design to these seatbelts that when you pull them all the way out, it engages this little ratchet for infant car seats to be locked in. . my side has it but hasn't locked up on me. . have heard it has always been the right side.

Front seat pretty easy. . start by removing hand grip for rear seat, then the upper slider, you need a medium sized Torx socket. (forgot the size needed. . like a 25 or so). . Upper and lower plastic covers come off with clips. . pretty easy to do. then you see the winder. . . Remove this with 2 bolts and on the side of the winder, you will see this little black piece under a outer plastic "door". take that off, pull out the hammer, and replace the cover. . Boom. . all fixed. . main ratchet is inside the winder so normal operation is not affected. re-install parts

Rear is a little harder to get to the Torx Bolts due to clearance of the rear seat. but is the same procedure...

Thanks Eric . . I wish the belts were like those we had years ago, you could pull them out a little and double hit that pull and they would lock in that position, giving a little room and not always tight against the body . . they still activated the merc switch in case of an accident, but it was nice NOT having them tight all the time. They are irritating . .
