What a waste of what could have been a wonderful, fulfilling life. She had everything going for her & chose the life she lived. Such a shame.



On another note, did anyone notice just how many TV channels had coverage of her funeral (homegoing) service? Even Fox News had a lot of coverage.



Recently, I was upset with the local (Phoenix) newspaper. They have a lousy TV guide in each day's paper. For a couple of the Republican Presidential Candidate Debate, there was no listing, at all, in the guide. Shortly thereafter, the President's State of the Union Address was on no less than 12 different channels, here. I know that this is a little off topic but, what the TV stations choose to broadcast, and advertise, bothers me a bit. Could there possibly be an adgenda here???

your statement is true it was a great loss and many of the singers have been lost THE SAME WAY. But one of the greats IMO was lost about the same time and not that much was said about her. My tastes in Music Vary WILDLEY and I listen to all kinds of music on the Satellite radio. We lost a true icon of music in ETTA JAMES. I dont know about your age or music preference but take a listen she was a GREAT and it wasnt because of drugs

I may be young and naive, but I clearly don't remember seeing the flag lowered when Waylon Jennings or Chris LeDoux passed away!!

What about Kate Smith ? What about Ethel Merman ? What about Ella Fitzgerald (probably one of the best if not the best female singer of all times) ?



I know they didn't lower it for Jimi Hendrix who was actually in the army (101st airborne).

Hendrix was in the Army?? We played him every AM to raise the flag in VN. Commander said that he didnt care as long as it was patriotic and he tried to change his statement but we wouldn't let him.
