Oh good grief, Eric. You're the same kid that's obsessed with his throttle cable aren't you? Race refers to african-american, chinese, white, latino, etc. Not a symbol that some people have chosen to associate with that race. I would love to see you walk into a courtroom and tell some judge that you can fly the rebel flag because Title VII of the Civil Rights Act permits you to do so! LOL! :-laf Do a little legal research before you start doubting what I say about the subject.

Oh, I sure do love those throttle cables! However, what the heck does it have to do with this topic? Nothing... If you don't like throttle cables then get rid of yours, end of story... Back onto the topic...



In the majority of the publics opinion, the confederate flag is associated with the white race. I'm not saying that is correct but that is common belief in society. If am choose to display something of common public belief to support my own race and told I cannot do so, that is discrimination. Plain and simple. Your theory works in this situation, If i mount a gun on my vehicle and am told I need to remove it and go to court and cry discrimination, that is not going to work. A gun is not a common symbol associated with a certain race.



Let's not argue about it, I said my peace and I will leave it at that... Keep flying your flag proud guys!

Well, it may be discrimination to you but it's not in a legal sense. The problem with this subject lies within the violation of 1st amendment rights. Telling an employee to remove a symbol from their personal vehicle is a violation of free speech, not discriminiation on the basis of race. I'm simply telling you how a court would interpret this problem. Unfortunately, your personal opinion really doesn't matter when it comes to the law.

finally someone that actually know what there talking about the flag of the Confederacy was like this the flag that is usually refered to as a Confederate flag was actually the battle flag i am so sick of being politicly correct i go to school the other day with a shirt with the battle flag on it and the principal tells me to go in the bathroom and turn it inside out i say why she said it offends people i say why is that she said because of what it stands for i said what is that she says it stands for white supremecy and slavery i tell her that she is very uneducated on the topic and that i refuse to take it off because that is taking away my freedoms she says that it is in the school hand book so i get it out in her office and there is not one thing about it in there but there is some thing about doorags and bandana and i ask why they do nothing about that she says we tryed and it didnt work well thats not a good enough answer for me i tell her i will be talking to her when she becomes educated on the topic until then dont do a damn thing about it because you cannot tell me what i can and cannot wear when it clearly states no doorags and i can see 5 of them from here until something is done about that and the gay pride club because that offends me i will not turn my shirt inside out and i will continue to wear it and i said thank you and walked out

And on my vehicle I had the battle flag. The officer refered to it as stars and bars. . Ignorance maybe???

carlsummers as a LOS and a SCV member I thought your post was excellent. We not only have the battleflag at my place but also the Missouri Battleflag and the 3rd National flag which is the official flag of the Confederacy. The local Confederate memorial Day celebration at Higginsville Missouri had 4 times the crowd that was originally expected this weekend. The flags of the south are not white race symbols, they are symbols of what are ancestors believed in which was states rights without the tyranny that the Lincoln administration brought with it. Slavery was under the American flag for 200 years. The battleflag itself was only used in battle to distinguish themselves from the enemy. Hate groups like the KKK and other racist organizations still use the American flag or Christian flag to represent themselves yet the racist groups from the other side of the fence continue to hold blame against the Southron flags. Out of igorance I suppose but their igorance offends me that's for sure.

mcoleman, thank you for the kind words. I am totally amazed at the mis-information that is passing as "education" in our country. Todays liberal media has taken a part of our history, and perverted it to the point that few people actually know the truth. Now, you have people demonstrating and boycotting something that they don't even understand. Very few people of color know that during the mid 1800's, the majority of the "slave factories", were owned by free blacks. "Slave factories" (breeding slaves to raise more slaves for sale), was expressly forbidden by the law, in the South. What's more, in 1860, there was approx. 1700 free black slave owners in the South, (bet Jesse Jackson won't be telling that one in his speaking engagements). And the only person to ever invade American soil was none other than President Lincoln... . he sent the Federal army to Maryland and arrest the Governor and legislature and put them in prison. Maryland was about to seceede and Lincoln knew that was too close to the Capitol for comfort.



BTW: I read an article online about your celebration. I was extremely pleased to see your Governor decided to hold to his obviously unpopular stand... . good on him.....



I could go on and on, but I don't want to bore people. I just get aggrevated that a lot of lies are being perpetuated as the truth, concerning the war of Northen aggression..... study of the Civil War is a great hobby.....
