Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) flaming stacks

Would timing be too far advanced or retarded to get flames out the stacks. I think i will be taking my truck to eep to figure out what i don't have set right on it because the four foot flame that was shooting out of each stack in the truck today when i started it up in the shop has got me a little worried. They told me down at Enterprise that this thing was going to smoke a lot but i wasn't ready for the flames. I am taking the truck down there tomorrow and i will try and find out what's going on. Matt

My uncle has a Farmall M gas tractor that has a flame out the exhaust pipe.
