anyone know what is involved in installing power wagon flares? any drilling? also in pictures it looks like there is another piece to blend the flares with the plastic piece below the headlights..... is that included with the flares or is it bought seperatly? THANKS

The Power Wagon flares use screws and plastic fastners in existing holes- the flare also has two sided adhesive tape to bond to sheet metal- make sure you leave the tape covered with the pull tab covering until you have them where you want- the small plastic bumper piece is a feature of the 4500-5500 flares- which are about twice the size of the PW flares. I put the PW flares on my truck - very easy install

HSohm is right about the adhesive tape.

I had to reinstall one on my last truck. Put the screws in and get them kinda snugged up so that the flare is where you want it. Then, pull the tape off the adhesive and stick the flare.

If you ever have to take one of these things off, be prepared to do some careful adhesive removal. It is a slow and tedious process to get that stuff off the fender.

thanks for the info. I dont know what I will do yet. I like the fact the power wagon flares are textured like my mirrors and door handles, but with the tape it sounds like you have only one shot to get it right. I do not care for pocket flares unless the truck is lifted.

Flares-

If you leave the covering on the adhesive strip you will have no problem getting them set up the way you want- once you are happy you zip off the covering- (the loose end is exposed) - press down and you are good to go- the small piece you referred to that is just below the lamp is part of the flare-

they are all one piece

HSOHM is right. Get them in place, hold them with the screws, pull the tape and press them on. It's not as bad as you think. Make sure the fender is clean.

thanks again for replies. I think I'll order some in a day or 2. Truck is an st crew 4x4 2011 I bought in december to personalize to suit myself. right now it is all mineral gray and I think the black flares will add a lot to the truck.

William,

Please post pics when you get the flares on.

I have a gray stone (silverish) colored 2010 ST 4X4 and would like to see what it would look like with the flares.
:D

The flares are the same color/texture as the mirrors and door pillars.

Had my doubts about black on blue but I'd never take em off now.

that looks great... . I think the contrast on mine would look good too. hoped to order mine this week but when I got home today it looked like I had a log lakehouse. got a bad leak in the waterline somewhere... ... ... ... its always something..... will probably push the flares off the budget a couple weeks or so.
