How BIG is your "DECK"??????

I have noticed that in the past few years there are less and less people flashing on coming traffic that there is a cop waiting for them up the road. I try to let people know that they should be slowing down by flashing my lights. I had a person just last month in a Mitsu. suv flash me and he saved me big time.

Do people do this anymore???

I still do it, but most people just stare at you like you're an idiot and don't slow down a bit.

I also notice that more and more truckers seem to be brain dead too. When they pass me, I always flash my lights after they're clear to move back over. Many never notice and pull back in another 1/2 mile down the road.

Some people here do it for police and for animals. We have a lot of deer and elk in the area. I saw a Penske moving van flash their lights yesterday but never saw a cop or animals, but there may have been and he turned off.

Ho... ... did you just pulled over ..... hehehehe

No Cliff!!! I just have been wondering this for awhile because I have not seen many people "flashing lights" and you know 287 all the cops love that place!

I got flashed by a powerstroke this last weekend. Lucky enough there was a bunch of traffic so I could not speed. Cops were hiding behind a tree, one shooting the gun and others waiting to pounce.

:) If your not speeding or otherwise breaking the law you dont have to worry about it. :-laf

Let the flames begain.

No flames here, but I'll call BS on that one.

I seldom speed, but I have a radar detector in my truck for two reasons:

1. Everyone makes mistakes and every time it goes off, it reminds me to check my speed.

2. I want to know when the crooked so-and-so's are clocking me.

I got out of a ticket when a cop tried to lie about when, where, and how fast he clocked me with his radar. I not so politely explained to him that I had a radar detector and two witnesses in the truck. If he wanted to write me a ticket, fine. My witnesses and I would see him in court and I doubted the judge would be too happy with him.

Albuquerque has been installing those red light speeding cameras at major intersections around town. Saw on the news tonight that they have raised $2. 2 million over the last year by sending people tickets in the mail! There has been people complaining on the news that the cameras have been sending tickets for 1mph over. How can that stand up in court? 1mph is less than the margin of error in the speedo. I have run several NEW vehicles with a GPS and all of them are 1 mph off.

My buddy and I were hunting on the Truckee River east of Reno/Sparks the other day. Saw the Highway Patrol plane circling overhead. When we pulled back up on I-80, there were 4 cruisers within a few hundred yards of each other, all with pull overs. Looked like Christmas came early with all the lights!

I only flash for danger anymore. I have pretty much even quit the CB warnings for LEO sightings. As I get older, I am of the opinion, if you are speeding, then you need to be nailed, rather than me helping you get away with it. Everyone can and usually does obey the law when they are being watched, it is what you do when you don't think you are being watched that will get you in trouble. 170K on the current ride, never been stopped including several cross country trips.

I deffinetly flash the lights, and appreciate it when others warn me, I watch speed limits, but genarally drive at a speed which is comfortable for the road and driving conditions, sometimes that is a little more then the men in blue like, however I have never been pulled over in my three years of driving, mostly becuase I am not dumb or reckless, and I pay attention. :)

I live out in the country, 35mph roads, Kids playing in the yards along this road (some playing along side the ride). Punks and socker Moms love to do 60mph. I also drive a 4 lane highway that is marked at 55. People do 80 on this highway (using the cell phone), every couple weeks someone gets killed by these idiots doing 80.

No I do not flash when the cops are waiting for them, I feel they deserve to be busted. But I do flash when I see them speeding in my area back roads and there is not a cop there (they slow down because they think I just warned them there is a cop ahead)

When I lived in Illinois I was told that flashing your lights is against the law so I am very careful when doing it. Can anyone confirm this?

i have heard it is obstuction of justice. what a bunch of b. s. in my book.

i still flash my lights every time.

It's illegal to flash your high-beams... at oncoming traffic. That's just common sense. Use your low beams!
