I'm going to buy a 3500 dually in the next couple of months and can't decide if I want to go with the Mega Cab or the Quad Cab. This may make my decision for me though... Since the mega cab dually is a short bed only does anyone make a good flatbed in the short bed length? I want a flatbed for several reasons one being that the dually mega cab bed is fugly  But I'll give up the extra cab length for the bed that I want. Thanks guys.

If you are going to put a flat bed on it you can increase the rear over hang a tad and use a 6'6" or even a 7' bed.

i myself am looking for a short bed dually flat bed as i will be making mine a dually soon. i have fond that anyoen that makes a flat bed will custom make one that is dually width with short box mounting design. cost is about in the middle of the two bed sizes.

nobody that i know of makes one that is "off the shelf" so to speak.

This may help your decision:

Quad Cab dually: GVWR (4x2/4x4) 11,500/12,200

Mega Cab dually: GVWR 10,500

DC has yet to explain this reduction. You may want to consider how much weight you are going to have on that flatbed, and err on the side of caution with the QC.

Not so much going to have a ton of payload on the bed as towing a heavy gooseneck, around 14,000 lbs. That is a strange difference... 2,000 lbs is alot since its basically the same frame. I may go with the quad cab.

Not the weight... the length. The Megacab is already the same length as a quad cab long bed. Add another two feet into the wheelbase and it would literally be like driving and parking a limo.

I have a '03 with a short bed flatbed, there's some pics of it in my gallery, and at www.dixiemfg.com, on the front bumpers page, i'm actually in the process of building one on my '06 i just got, it should be done this week, and i can send you some pics soon if you are still interested. .
