TDR,

Does anyone know if there is a difference (other than getting ripped off from Dodge) between the more expensive Fleetguard oil filters from Geno's garage verses the Mopar filters?

Dodge wants $15/filter or about $11 when buying a case.

tks

If I'm not mistaken, the Mopar is a Fleetguard but it's not the Stratapore (3894)version. It uses a different filter media. It is also available as the Fleetguard brand so save yourself some money. Get it from Geno's or Cummins. There was a thread about three weeks ago on this that you may want to search. I can't remember the new Fleetguard number right off but the thread dealt with using Stratapore not being listed for the 24V engines (but it is). I use the Stratapore. In my opinion it is the better filter.

Go to Geno's and order the Stratapore. If you want a filter that is probably a bit better use Amsoil's SDF-80. If you are a dealer it runs $13. 75 or thereabouts. The Fleetguard filter runs $8. 75. If you have a good Dodge dealer they won't gouge you on the filter. I would still go with one of the other two filters for my money.
