Cummins Filtration shows some fuel additives on their site, one in particular seems to be intended for engines with DPFs called Platinum Plus® DFX-DPF Catalyst.
They indicate it is designed for use with vehicles having Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) and is formulated with cerium and higher levels of platinum catalyst to provide more complete combustion, reduce particulate matter emissions, and reduce trap regeneration temperatures.
Not sure if this would be considered an “approved” additive over others, but found it interesting to see something targeted for DPF equipped vehicles.
Go to Cummins Filtration and search for section 8 of document LT32599 (Fuel & Emissions Additives)
