Fleetguard Air Filter?

I have read with interest the posts regarding air filters (K&N, Amsoil, oil/no oil) etc.



I see that Geno's sells the Fleetguard filters, which from what I can tell, is a paper filter. Has anyone used these and what is your experience with them?

I had one before i swithed to K&N. Its a great paper filter, just tear off the worthless foam piece on the front, it does not serve any filtration purpose, just noise control.

Im using them now as I bought a couple after I got my new truck. They seem to work fine for paper filters but Im going with K&N as soon as this one gets a little dirty.

Why do you say the foam does no good. Isn't that a pre filter of sorts? I just replaced mine, and the foam was covered with fine dust, I work on a lot of roads with very fine powder dust.

The foam will help a little, but the primary purpose is to muffel the noise of the turbo.
