I just stopped buy the Cummins dealer to get a few oil filters. He gave me LF3349. Did I get the right one? Ive used fleetguard before but the last oil change the only one handy was a MoPaR filter and I didnt have a ref # for the fleetguard.

I don't know what the Fleetguard part number is for the "regular" filter, but the one I run is an LF 3552, which is their premium filter--the one they recommend for their synthetic oil. The guys at Cummins Atlantic say this filter works fine with non-synthetics, just filters better than the standard filter. Cost is $8. 90.

446,
LF 3349 is the correct number for the standard Fleetguard oil filter.
masterstream is referring to the micro glass filter( will filter smaller particles, came from the generator and pump division).
There is also a Stratapore(spelling?)filter its filtering lies in between the Standard and Micro Glass.
Excuse me! Statapore is listed only for 24 valve engines thought they were for 12 valves too.

3894 is the part number for the Stratapore filter. Yes it is true this filter was desinged for use on the 24v (stronger case and top portion of the filter) but it can be used on the 12v. I've been running the 3894 on my 12v since I've had the truck (3 oil changes). It's my understanding that the Stratapore is Fleetguard's best filter material. Ryan

Can't remember the # off hand, but I use the "Stratapore" in my 97, and get them at the Case-IH dealer. They're painted the same color as the engine, & made by Fleetguard. (Hey! it's a tractor engine, shoe horned into a pickup!)
