I am not the total RV expert, but I will comment on my experiences with Fleetwood. The quality on MY trailer was less than satisfactory in many areas. The cabinet over the stove (the one with the CD player, has a bow in the inside where there was not enough room for the wiring or something.
The blackwater tank would not completely drain. The tank sagged when anything was in it and always left about 5 to 10 gallons of waste in it when I tried to drain it. I even tried driving the high side up on some 2x6's in order to get it to tilt and drain.
The freshwater tank also sags. I have to fill it above the 1/4 mark before the water pump will draw water out of it and can never get the last 10 gallons out of the tank (even when I use the system drain on the bottom of the tank).
The trim on the ceiling between the panels was only stapled in 3 places and sags between staples.
Driving down the highway, I noticed the aluminum siding sucking outward just behind the front left corner of the trailer. It pulled out so far thet the seem would not go back together. Fortunately, I had some of the foil type "duct tape" (never, I mean never go anywhere without it. Super strong and doesnt come off) and was able to get it home 1500 miles later with no additional damage to the trailer. If it had been nighttime, I would have lost the entire front section of siding (loud metal flapping noise would have been my first clue).
May I suggest Sunnybrook if you are interested in a good quality low end trailer. I am buying one from Worldwide RV. I have a couple friends who have Sunnybrooks and they are much happier with theirs than I am with mine. The workmanship looks better and the cost is about the same as a Fleetwood. Amish workers put them together, so go figure.
Worldwide RV gave me a price almost $8000. 00 cheaper than I could get on the same trailer here in Denver. But you have to do it through internet sales. Go to their site
www.worldwiderv.com and click on the "build a trailer" icon. Select all the options and it gives you the MSRP price, if you send it in, they will respond within a day with a price well below that.
